Chapter 21~The Courtyard

The bat screeched loudly as lucinda and the others cover their ears with their hands,once the bat finished screeching adam unsheathed his sword.

"Patch you go on ahead with everyone and save the queen and the princess"

He said without looking at patch,who hesitated but sighed then nodded as the four of them hurried past adam.

"You better come back to us alive"

Patch said as adam chuckled then nodded,once the four was making their way the bat turned around and flew after them.

"Oh no you don't!"

Adam yelled then with a strong but quick swing of his sword,bolts of lightning charged out from the sword and hit the monster.

It screeched and turned around to face adam,as he was ready to fight this giant monster.

Once reaching the other side oliver placed his hand onto a seal,which glowed brightly then the glowing vanished the big ancient looking door opened up.

"If we followed this tunnel this will lead us into the courtyard but we better becareful"

Lucinda and patch nodded,the four of them then walked inside as the door behind them closed with a loud bang.

Adam continued to fight the giant bat,managing to block it's attacks he jumped into the air then done a spiral slash downwards hitting the giant bat and making it slam into the ground.

He then landed softly infront of the monster,carefully approached it but then the bat flapped its wings and got onto its legs as it screeched.

"Well i can tell this one is going to be a challenge..but i should finish him off quickly and join the others"

Getting his sword ready he charged towards the giant bat,but all of a sudden the bat flapping its wings hard made a big gust of wind stopping adam in his tracks.

The bat then flew into the air and like before it flew around until it dived straight down towards adam.

"Now this is my chance!"

He said as he waited for the bat to come closer,once close enough he jumped then landed onto it's back seeing a dark stone in the middle.

"So that's how it works eh oh well your done anyways"

With his blade he stabbed it into the stone shattering it,the bat screeched loudly in pain and began to fly everywhere in pain also trying to fling adam off.

"Patch..everyone...you can do it..."

With that said the bat screeched more and more as adam stabbed his sword over and over into the stone,with one final stab the bat became cold and flew into the dark abyss with adam on him.

"I never expected this tunnel to be very long"

Lucinda said as the four of them continued on through the tunnels,and she was not kidding at all.

"Princess's father and the queen's husband built this tunnels as a emergency incase the queen had to flee with the princess if she was ever in danger"

"I see..i never knew that.."

Erick explained as lucinda replied,but the two of them assured her that leah and the queen will be saved and the others.

They continued on and one until they felt a breeze,there was some stairs at the end one by one they walked up them.

"Okay if we manage to sneak into the castle we should be able to rescue them"

Oliver said as lucinda,patch and erick nodded as oliver slowly pushed towards a wall in which it was a statue that moved aside.

Looking around seeing no one around yet,one by one they climbed out from a hole once patch was out last the statue closed behind them.

"Oh my..look at the courtyard.."

Lucinda whispered and pointed towards the dark,dead gloomy courtyard which was filled with beautiful flowers and a fountain now there was nothing.

"Let's go we must hurry"

Patch said as he began to lead the other's through the courtyard sneaking past the undead monster warriors and guards,who were patrolling nearby.

"Hold on leah..queen clarissa and everyone we are coming..."
