The Him

Prologue

Asher ran as fast as his feet could take him, avoiding the zombies as he went. He threw a dagger at one to block it and kicked another one out of his way. He knocked over a trash can as he ran blindlessly down the streets.
All of a sudden, he hit a dead end and was trapped in an alleyway. He spun around but the zombies were coming up behind him and there were just too many. He slowly backed up until his back hit the wall. He closed his eyes and remembered his mother and father who had been infected to save his life and he only lasted to the age of 15.
He opened his eyes to see the zombies barely an inch away from him. He clenched his teeth and closed his eyes as he waited to become infected. The zombies were so close he could almost taste their horrible breaths.
Then he was infected. He looked around to see he was in a tiny black room, with a screen. He walked up to the screen and saw the perspective of a person walking down a street, quite clumsily too. Then with horror Asher realized that was him.
He looked around the dark room again and spotted a little person. He walked closer to the person and soon realized that the person was his mother. She smiled and waved at him. He waved back but for some reason she couldn't see him and kept trying to get his attention.
Asher was about to go closer but a loud bang startled him and he looked at the screen. It was black . . . with blurred hands. Wait people trying to save him! And it was the Othdoan!
There were a 2 different groups trying to survive the apocalypse. Asher's group was called the Hexiy, but he'd always wanted to be in Othdoan, they were kids, 11 up to 19 that were so talented, some of them created cures, and others hacked into parts of the government he didn't know about.
All of a sudden the screen was glowing. A girl was standing there in deep concentration and sweat beaded her head. She jumped up and "AHAH!" All of a sudden his body felt a little jello-ey. He slipped out of the black room and he opened his eyes to see he was in a lab and the girl he saw on the screen was in front of him. She smiled.
"Welcome to Othdoan!"
