"B-Blake?" I whispered, "does Mae know about this? Does she know her own brother is destroying mankind?"
"Mae? That smart, totally self-absorbed scientist who thinks she could cure Jasper? Oh c'mon Asher, I thought you were smarter than this. You should've went with your gut and not trust me, but you just had to be in Othdoan. Too bad. You know, I really liked Mae to be my sister, but she made things super difficult both for me and you," Blake smiled.
"W-what do you mean for both of us?" I asked, my voice hoarse.
"I wasn't lying that Mae was dating Jasper, Asher. I was telling the truth. As if for me, she was really hard on me like she knew I wasn't her brother but she never did anything about it."
"Wait-not her brother?"
"You know when Mae got that nasty scar on her neck? I kidnapped Blake before the accident and I returned as him."
"So you made that nasty scar," I looked at him with anger in my eyes.
"Whole distraction," Blake smiled, "Asher. I mean no harm to you, dude. I totally respect you. Now, time for you to trust me."
"Now why would I trust you?" I gag at the thought.
"Trust. Trust," he kept saying ignoring my question. Soon enough, I started to say it and I relaxed a little. He opened my cell and unlocked my cuffs.
"Trust me, Asher, and because with me in it, your life is much easier."
"I trust you," I said.
"Good," he smiled, "follow me." I followed him to a corridor and to a lab, similar to Mae's but a lot bigger.
In there, Finn was waiting for us. "Sit, my friend," Blake said grabbing a chair. I sat in it.
Finn grabbed my hand and unscrewed my bracelet. He let all the fluid out and put in another liquid in it.
"There, That should keep you with us," he smiled patting my shoulder. I nodded.
Just then, we heard a thud. "Asher!" A girl cried as she came into view. "B-Blake?" I look at her, unable to remember her.
"Hello sister," Blake waved.
"W-what are you doing here and Finn? What are you doing with Asher's bracelet?" The girl yelled.
"Hi Mae," Finn waved.
The girl pushed by the two boys and grabbed my hand. She pulled me out of the room, but Blake grabbed my other hand.
"Let go!" The girl yelled.
"No! Asher, kick!" Blake yells. I kick her and she fell to the ground.
"A-Asher?" She looked at me, her eyes started tearing up. "No."
"I'm gonna add you to the collection, Mae," Blake cruelly smiled and guards came up grabbing her by the arms.
Mae looked at me with her sad eyes. Just then, I started to remember her. The girl who cured me. The girl who gave me advice. The girl who helped me try to prove to Blake that I was worthy. And especially, the girl of my dreams. Mae.
"MAE!" I yelled running at her, knocking all the guards to the ground. Blake and Finn looked at me, dumbfounded.
"Asher!" Mae smiled hugging me.
"NOOOOOO! THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE!" Blake roared with anger.
Then, a force field trapped Mae inside.
"Help!" She cried.
"Mae!" I yelled.
Then, she disappeared. I turned and faced Blake and Finn.
"WHAT DID YOU DO!" I yelled, "WHERE IS MAE. WHERE IS THE REAL BLAKE. WHY DO YOU HAVE NO HEART!"
Then, it hit me. Heart. Brains. It all made sense.
Blake looked at me with anger. He grabbed me by the arm and knocked me out.
