chapter xx.
•3rd Person•
"What do you mean I can't go on the hunt?" Kristen asked, her hand going to her hip.
"I'm sorry, Kristen. It's just what's best right now." Dean told her, attempting to reason with her.
"If you're worried about Darren, okay. I get why, but I still think I should be able to go with you guys." She said as she followed him to their room.
"We'll take Emily or Amber, it's gonna be fine." The dirty blonde said causing Kristen to roll her eyes.
"Fine." Is all she said.
She began to walk away when he gripped her forearm, "Hey," he called. She stopped and turned towards her boyfriend.
"I love you, I'm doing this to protect you." Dean told her.
"I know," she sighed. "I just, I feel like a goddamn damsel, and I hate it."
"You aren't a damsel. I promise." He leaned over to peck her lips before continuing packing his bag for the hunt.
"Castiel is gonna stay here with you, so is either Amber or Emily. Whichever decides to stay back. Though I have an idea of which is gonna wanna go considering Sam is going," Dean joked. Kristen just laughed, agreeing with her boyfriend.
They headed downstairs and saw the other four all in the living room. "Okay, Kristen's staying here. Amber, Emily, do one of you wanna come with Sam and I on the hunt?"
The girls shared looks and it looked to the others like they were having a mental conversation.
"I will," Amber said. Kristen heard her boyfriend next to her chuckle, muttering a quiet "I knew it."
"Okay, cool. Go get all your stuff ready, this one could be a few days. Hopefully, it's all being orchestrated by Darren and we can catch him and take him down." Dean said to no one in particular.
"This is not the time in the slightest— but I find it hilarious that both your names start and end with 'D' and 'N'."
"Only you would find that funny, Emily."
"Eh, true."
Sam took in a breath before walking over to Amber, and the two of them went back to grab all her stuff for the hunt.
"So, how do you think this is gonna go?" He asked, grabbing a suitcase from a closet nearby and handing it to the girl.
"Hopefully, we can catch the prick and take him down once and for all. Him and his bitch." Amber told him. Silence filled the space between them as he helped her pack up, but not for long before Sam starting talking again.
"I... I thought about Jess the other day." He said, it was quiet and timid.
"Really?" Amber asked, her voice soft and careful. To which Sam nodded. "What were you thinking about?"'
"Whether or not she's at peace, or if peace even exists. I thought about what it would've been like if she was still here now, how you guys would've gotten along. How she and Dean would've gotten along, if... if I would have been able to save her. Just a bunch of things, really." The brunet explained.
"You know, sometimes I think about Noah. Like where he is now, if I could've saved him, stuff like you thought about with Jess." She told him as she zipped up the suitcase. "What happened to Jess was not at all your fault, Sam. I—."
"Noah wasn't your fault either," Sam said, cutting Amber off and facing her fully. She looked down at the bed, a small, sad smile forming on her face.
"I know," she admitted quietly. "It sure feels like it sometimes, though."
Sam reached his hand out and caressed her cheek, Amber found herself leaning into his touch. "It's not your fault. Just like... just like Jess isn't, uh, isn't my fault."
The two stared at each other, getting lost in each other's eyes. Before they fully acknowledged what they were doing, the two leaned in til their lips met in a soft kiss. Their lips moved together in a synchronized dance, Sam's other hand cupping her other cheek. He held her face in his hands as they kissed, and her hands found themselves entangled in his hair.
They pulled away, catching their breath and resting their foreheads on one another. A knock on the door was heard and they jumped away from each other, their faces turning a bright pink.
"Hey," They heard Dean say, "We gotta go."
"Okay," "Got it," they spoke in unison, each still feeling flustered. They grabbed the bags and headed out to the living room, and the four were getting ready to leave before Castiel popped into the middle of the living room.
"Dean, Sam, stop." He said.
The brothers exchanged confused looks before Dean spoke. "What?"
"You guys can't go on the hunt. It's too dangerous for Kristen," the Angel explained, which earned a scoff from Kristen.
"Cas, I think I'll be fine. I can handle this—" Castiel cut her off.
"You're pregnant," he said. "Only a few weeks, but it's not safe for the fetus if you go on this hunt."
To say Kristen was speechless was an understatement. Her jaw dropped, one hand going over her mouth and the other to her stomach. "How— how do you know this?"
"I'm an angel, I can sense these things. Haven't you noticed the symptoms? Morning sickness, strange cravings? Anything like that?" The angel asked.
"Well, my period was late. And uh... we didn't exactly use protection last time, we kinda hoped we could count on birth control." Kristen said, feeling her face turn bright red. "I can't believe this, I'm gonna be a mom." Her tone was shaky, a little breathless. I mean, she just found out she was pregnant. She was going to be a mother. She was growing a baby inside of her in that very moment of time. She was in utter shock.
Dean, on the other hand, he hadn't said a thing. He had this perplex look on his face, no body could determine what emotion he was feeling, nor could they tell what he was thinking. It made Kristen a little nervous, if she was being honest. She stared at him and he avoided eye contact, a hand coming up to rub his temples. The room filled with tension and silence, everyone exchanging breakfast glances before staring at the couple.
"Dean?" Kristen's voice was soft, filled with a little fear. The man finally looked at her, and his eyes darted down to her stomach. Where his child— their child, was growing in that very moment. He stared back into her eyes as tears filled his own, he took a step forward and held her hands in his and pressed a kiss to her lips.
"We're gonna be parents," He whispered when he pulled away. "And we're gonna be fantastic ones, too."

If anyone is confused as to who Noah is, that's is Amber's boyfriend who died in an earlier chapter who was previously named Louis. I changed it and recasted and uhhh yeah
