chapter viii.
•TIME SKIP•
•Kristen•February 14th, a day I've never cared much for. Except in Elementary school when I got candy from my classmates. But once you hit middle school, say goodbye to that. You only get gifts if you have good friends or a boyfriend. I never really focused on dating in middle school nor high school. Anyways, right now us five are all in Walmart going shopping for food. We're treating ourselves for Singles Awareness Day, as I call it. I have a basket full of different candies and snacks and Dr. Pepper, just the usual. I walk around trying to find Sam or Dean or Amber or Emily. I turn a corner and I see Deans leather jacket so I head towards his direction. He looks uncomfortable, as I get closer I see some blonde girl talking to him and twirling her hair around her finger. They're near a jewelry section you know where you can buy wedding rings and stuff, I feel this burning lump of anger inside me. I've heard others talk about this feeling, it's one I've never felt. Not once.
Jealousy.
But why am I jealous? We're just friends, nothing more, nothing less. One side of me tells me to go up there and drag him away politely, the other side says to go up to her and drag her by the hair all the way to hell. I decide against both options, my head moves to the side and I see the jewelry stand again. Dean spots me and starts heading towards me, but the girl is right on his trail. I need to think fast, which I do no problem.
"So, do you want my number then-" I cut the girls question off once they're near.
"Babe," I call to Dean. He looks up at me, the girl looks confused.
I point to a ring that I really like, "This is the exact ring you got me. We can replace it after all!" I lie. He catches on quickly, nodding in my direction.
"Really? Yup, it is." He fake cheers.
The blondie looks disappointed, "Honey, is this a friend?" I ask, locking my arm with his.
"Uh, yeah. Kinda. We just met over there." He tells me.
"Hi, I'm Kristen. His fiancé." I continue lying, putting emphasis on fiancé.
"Congrats guys, you'll make a great couple." She sarcastically grumbles.
"Oh, also, I got results baby! I'm pregnant!" I cheer, just to bother this girl off more.
"Really?" He says in awe. I nod while smiling widely. The girl groans and storms off, causing me and Dean to burst out in laughter. We high five with our free hands as we laugh.
Thank you! She was so irritating. Literally, I lied and said I was taken, she went, really? I don't see anyone. Then I saw you and I walked over here hoping you'd come up with some lie." He explains.
"I gotchu bro." I joke. At that moment I realize our arms are still intertwined, I think he notices too. We both blush and rip our arms apart.
"Guys!" I cock my head to the side and see Amber, Emily and Sam coming towards us. They each have a basket of whatever it is they like.
"Well, why don't we all pay separately. There aren't many people here and the self check outs are open." Sam explains. We nod and head that way, all of us paying for whatever it is we bought them meeting outside at the impala.
"Just an FYI, when we get home no one is allowed in the kitchen. I bought a ton of stuff for me to bake." Emily announces.
"Yay!" We all scream like children.
