"Lavender sweetie, I need you to help Stacey get ready for school, I'm just taking a quick shower, then after I get dressed we'll leave, I'll take you today lavender because you would probably miss the bus at this rate." I rolled my eyes and watched as my mum picked up Stacey and swung her around, both of them laughing. I turned back to my cereal which I didn't feel like eating any more. So I jumped off my stool, put on my best fake smile and raced Stacey to her bedroom to help her get dressed for her first half day of primary school (it's the beginning of the Easter term). It's not that I don't love Stacey, because I do love her. I think it's more jealousy. My mum hasn't really paid much attention to me since she met my step dad, David Blu. She met him when I was 8 and married him two years later. Then when I was 12 Stacey was born that was the time Katrina Wilson started my school. She is my best and pretty much only friend at school. She's in my year and only two months older than me. She is basically my rock. The thing that keeps me sane in my insane life.

" Everyone ready?" My mum shouted as she carried Stacey's bag to the car.

"Yeah just about" I called back as I followed behind Stacey as she played hop-scotch to our car.

"Are you exited for your first day my sweet Stacey?" My mum called to Stacey after we had driven out of our drive.

"Yes, but, mummy?"

"Yes sweetie?"

"I'm a bit scared"

"Aww my darling, what's there to be scared about? Absolutely nothing, that's what"

"But, what if no one likes me and I get no friends?"

"But who doesn't love you!?"

That was all of there conversation I could listen to before I got sucked into my book. I am currently reading J K Rowlings 'Harry potter and the goblet of fire' it's my second time reading the books. But I think you can never read a good book too many times.

We arrived at my school about 15 minutes later. As I climbed out of the car shoving my book in my bag I saw that Katrina was waiting for me by the gate. I could tell by her face that she was dying to tell me something, and as it turns out.... I was right.

"Lav, did you hear that the house two doors down from you has been sold. Well, living on the same street of course you have. I hear that there is a 17 year old boy going to live there, which means he will probably be in our year! Oh, and his uncle is coming too. Do you think the boy will be coming here!? To our school?"

Katrina's mum is what you might call a town gossip. She knows pretty much everything and everyone. But I wouldn't call Katrina a gossip, she talks a lot I grant you, she only ever gossips to me though.

" I haven't heard anything about it, 17 you say? Well....." I laughed "You already have a boyfriend so I guess you should give me a chance, "

"Okay, as I have finally found the perfect boy I'll give you a chance, and if this boy is a perfect gentleman, and I mean perfect, I will have to make sure you know, then if he is, I will let you have him."

I laughed "You sound like your talking about a dog!"

Katrina gave me her serious face "you are exactly right! But we must play nicely with our new pet" she winked at me.

I was just about to reply to her statement when the bell rung, so we had to run to class. We got there and ran to our seats out of breath, but thankfully the teacher hadn't arrived yet, so we were fine. Just after we sat down the teacher strolled in with the register, and sat down at his desk. My teacher, mr Jenkinson has quite a long snowy, white beard and is rather round and is probably best described as, well Santa clause. I'm pretty sure that he has played a Santa clause in a show and in the streets at Christmas time once. Mr Jenkinson is a design and technology woodwork teacher. Which I think is very fitting as a Santa, but I always wonder how he works with his beard.
