Chapter 53: Nate

Fire ignites in people.

Most people.

Or,

they can be born with it.

However,

most people don't discover their fire during their lifetime.

Summer Scott was not one of them.

She was born with it.

She grew up rich and famous.

She grew up with everything she could ever want.

Nothing less,

nothing more.

Fire runs through her blood,

it runs through her family.

Rex Scott was something else.

His fire was,

well,

scary.

he was powerful.

he was the guy you shouldn't mess with.

Well,

from what I can see.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE, DAD?" Summer yells.

Cooper and I look at each other in confusion.

Rex walks closer to her bed,

slowly.

Summer backs away.

"I can't let you do this, Summer." He says.

"And why not?" She asks, holding up her phone.

"Don't get caught up with a murder investigation. It'll be bad for us." He answers.

She scoffs.

Then rolls her eyes.

"'I'll be bad for us.'"  She says, mocking him. "YOU KNOW WHAT'S FUCKING BAD FOR US, FATHER?"

"YOUR WIFE, THAT'S WHAT!"

"What are you talking about?" He answers nervously.

"Oh, guys, would you look at that. I touched a nerve." She responds, laughing.

Rex fuels with anger.

"Summer Scott, you tell me what's going on right now or everything held in your name is gone."

She laughs again.

"Like you could do anything about it." She begins.

She stands up and comes closer to her father.

Her voice comes down to a whisper.

"I'm your daughter. I'm your blood. I have contacts all around the world."

"So- are you sure about that?" She asks, crossing her arms.

He rolls his eyes.

Then a pause.

"You see, father, your wife tried to kidnap me and almost killed one of your daughters AND your beloved son." She says.

He gasps.

"Oh, like you didn't know." She murmurs.

"Are you okay?" He asks.

Summer continuously laughs for a while.

Cooper and I get a little creeped out.

"Summer, do you need us to leave?" Cooper asks.

Summer peaks her head around her father's shoulder.
