"Grab her legs while I tape her big mouth shut." Mina commands Daniel.

Daniel hands her a shiny roll of silver duct tape and she pulls off a long strip.

"Don't you fucking put that near me!" I yell.

A fist lands somewhere on my face and I see black.

"She's heavy. Can't we just drag the bitch?"

"No. We can't risk it."

Suddenly, my head and upper half slam against the ground as one of them drops me straight on to the cold, hard earth.

I try my hardest not to react but my head is throbbing.

"What the fuck?! She's gonna wake up and we're going to get caught!" Daniel hisses.

"I don't give two shits if she wakes up. I just want her gone. I thought you were in this with me, Danny boy." Mina says.

"But I don't want to hurt her." Daniel sighs.

"Suck it up buttercup." Mina tells him.

I remain silent as Daniel drags me by my legs through the woods.

After about five minutes, we come to a stop.

"Okay. Drop her." Mina demands.

"I don't know if I want to do this." Daniel says. "I can't do this."

"Danny boy," Mina says sweetly, "you promised."

"I just wanted to get back at Carson, I didn't—"

"STOP!" Mina yells. "Now where did you put the rope?"

Daniel pauses before answering. "It's hidden in an old shed like half a mile away from this spot. There's a path that leads right to it..."

"I'll be back. You both better be here when I get back." She threatens.

Mina's footsteps echo throughout the trees and slowly get quieter and quieter as she gets farther away.

I keep still.

I can hear Daniel sigh as he gets closer to me. He kneels down beside. I can feel his breath on my skin.

He strokes my face with his hand. "You were so beautiful."

My eyes flutter open. I immediately start to cry.

"Jada? No, don't cry."

I try to speak but the duct tape is still covering my mouth.

"Mm. Mmm." I try.

"I can't take it off Jada. You've got to be quiet." Daniel hushes me.

I begin to cry harder.

"Okay, okay." Daniel says. "I'll take it off."

He carefully peels the tape from my lips.

"Daniel, please help me. I'm scared! Please, you've got to—"

"Hush, Jada!" Daniel whispers. "I can't help you now."

"Why not?" I say, tears streaming down my dirty face.

He hesitates.

"Answer me! What's wrong?" I insist.

"We brought you here to kill you." He tells me, looking away.

My heart seems to stop.

"W-wha-? No. You're my best friend." My eyes fill with tears again. "You can't be in on this."

"Well, I am." He tells me. "I don't know what to tell you."

"Don't tell me anything! Just help me!" I yell.

Daniel stands up. "I'm not helping you anymore Jada! I've been here for you since we were kids and you've never appreciated me!"

"What do you mean?" I cry. "I've been by your side for all these years."

"As a friend! You never saw me as anything more than a FUCKING FRIEND!" Daniel yells at me.

"I don't— I don't understand." I whimper.

"Jada. I loved you," he confesses. "I couldn't help it. You were pretty, you knew what you were about. I loved your self confidence."

I don't know what to say. I am speechless.

"And you fell for the first loser that came your way." He continues.

"I didn't know Daniel." I say quietly.

"You didn't care. But I got the ultimate revenge on you, Jada." Daniel says.

"What did you do?" I ask. I'm scared to know.

"Me and Mina have been planning a little something for you tonight." He says. "How do you think she knew where you were and what you were doing?"

"Wait—"

"She was only a text away. All I had to do was give her an update." He explained.

"B-but what about... how did she know about things I was doing when you weren't there?" I ask, trying to stay composed.

"It takes nothing to hack an iPhone, Jada."

"Daniel-" I start. "I don't know what to say."

"That's fine Jada. After tonight, you won't have to say anything." He tells me.

"But... You must really love me a lot to do this to me..." I look up at him through the moonlight.

"I did. I- I do." He admits.

"I see that now." I mutter.

He comes back to my side. He leans in and kisses my neck.

"Daniel— what are you-"

"Just let me." He puts one of his hands on my thigh.

Tears run down my face again as I think of a way to make my escape. I look around and see my purse dangling on a brach nearby.

Daniel moves closer to my face and tries to kiss my lips.

I feel around the grass and my hand runs across a rock.

Without hesitation, I raise the rock and slam it against the side of his skull.

His skull makes a slight cracking noise and I stand up. The rock hits the ground with a thud and I run to the tree to grab my purse.

I hear footsteps coming from the trail, so Mina must be getting close again. I dart behind a large bush and take out my phone.

Text to: Carson

emergency, i will send u my location. come alone. mina and daniel trying to hurt me hurry

I quickly send Carson my exact location and see that he's typing.

Carson: where tf are u? i'm on my way.

I put my phone back in my purse and clutch my knife.

"You couldn't have picked the farthest place to put this could you?" I hear Mina in the distance.

Daniel doesn't respond.

"Answer me Danny boy."

I can see her emerge from the trail holding a bundle of rope. When she sees Daniel, she drops it and runs to him.

"What the hell?" She shakes Daniel and he doesn't respond. "Where the fuck is she! Where the FUCK is she!"

She  paces around the small clearing and
"You can hide if you want." Mina whispers. "But you're already dead."
