Yasmin got off the treadmill and grabbed her water bottle as she sat on the floor. She took a few sips and glared at her husband who now got off his treadmill, smiling at her as he copied her actions.
"I'm.Going.To.Kill.You."
Huzaifa laughed at her punctuation of each word,"First try moving without your bones breaking."
Yasmin glared at Huzaifa,“I hate you.”
Huzaifa chuckled at her words and her glare hardened at his chuckle,“Oh come on.It wasn’t even that bad.”
Yasmin’s mouth dropped open and she chucked the water bottle at Huzaifa who caught it just before it hit him,“Not that bad?Are you mad?An hour on the treadmill wasn’t that bad?My bones are crying and we’ve not even started. Why did I ever agree to this!Oh wait,I never. You forced me to.”
Huzaifa held back a smile at her pouting lips and he shook his head as he stood up,he offered her a hand,“Come on.I promise to torture you less after this.I’ll buy you your favorite mango juice if you finish off this last few sets.”
Yasmin tilted her head, chin raised,“You promise?”
“I promise.”
“Okay.” Yasmin put her hand in his and he pulled her up,“Now the weights.”
Yasmin’s eyes went huge at his words and she pulled her hand away from his, shaking her head,“Huh uh.I don’t want to look like Batista.”
Yasmin felt thankful that the gym they attended happened to be open until late otherwise her loud tone would have disturbed people trying to gym. They happened to be some of the only ones in the gym including a woman at the far end with earphones in and three of the employees.
Huzaifa grabbed her hand and shook his head,“No woman. You won’t look like Batista.Weights actually help when getting into shape.”
Yasmin felt conflicted as he pulled her towards the weights,“But-”
“Trust me.”
His whisper made her stop in her tracks and she sighed,“Okay fine.I get two mango juices for this.”
Huzaifa’s smile widened and he pulled her into a bone crushing hug,“Deal.”
Two hours and a couple almost broken toes later the couple made their way into their house. They entered their room and Yasmin groaned as she dropped her gym bag on the floor. She sat on the bed, closed her eyes and rolled her neck to one side, then the other.
“My body is going to feel like rocks in a bag by tomorrow.”
Huzaifa put his bag down next to hers and he smiled at her,“It will get better day by day.”
Yasmin opened one eye to look at him,“I know but I hate this part. You better buy me my mango juices by tomorrow, you promised.”
Huzaifa nodded as he sat down next to her to take off his shoes,“I will. Now how about I take quick shower and run you a bath to help relax your muscles. You can chill in there while I finish off some work.”
Yasmin opened her other eye and nodded only to groan,“Great idea.I’ll make you some tea.”
Huzaifa stood up and placed a kiss on her forehead,“Jazakallah love.”
Yasmin blushed at the nickname he called her as he walked away.Slowly but surely she was beginning to get used to the endearments he called her, love being one of the normal ones. She knew he did not use in a way of professing he loved her but rather as a sweet way of addressing her without really using her name.
