Future Rogue stared at the grass they were surrounded by, after they had vanished when the gate was completely destroyed. They looked down at their hands and closed their eyes.
"It's over. I failed."
They said and sighed as the breeze hit their face, their hair moving along with it in silence.
"I'm alone...I don't have Frosch, Gajeel and-"
They choked and balled their hands into fist and began to shake, Rogues mind began to trace back to memories with Sting, the two playing together as kids, joining Sabertooth, becoming friends, having Frosch and Lector. Rogue shook their head and wiped their eyes with their sleeve.
"No point in crying, it's not going to do anything"
They told themselves as tears just kept coming and memories kept flowing through their mind, the time where the both Sting and Rogue secretly dated because of Jiemma, their first kiss, them cuddling together, both of them saying 'I love you', then the very last memory of Rogue seeing Sting, the blonde smiling at them even if he was about to die. Rogue shook their head even more to make the memory stop.
Sting had his hand on Rogues cheek smiling at them blood coming from his wound that Rogue had gave him. He chuckled to himself and nuzzled his head on Rogues chest.
"It's okay Rogue, I'm not going to hate you"
"You're dying because of me Sting, HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT!?"
Sting tried to sit up but it hurt him too much, so he just stayed close to Rogues chest.
"Wow I say this so much yet you ask me that?
"Answer me!"
"That's easy Rogue come on"
Rogue is shaking holding their dying boyfriend in their arms.
"Just answer me Sting.."
"It's because I love you Rogue, I will always love you even if I die, nothing is going to change that"
Rogue is crying as they hugged Sting close, the other slowly hugging them back.
"I love you too Sting, I'm so sorry"
Rogue screamed to themselves and held their head in a tight grip, full of regret and sadness hitting them hard as they began to cry their eyes out.
"I'm so sorry Sting! I'm so sorry! Please just let me see you one last time!"
They sobbed and covered their eyes, there was a tap o their shoulder as they were trying to stop sobbing.
"Hey, what are you crying about?"
Rogues eyes shot up and looked behind them at their suppose to be dead boyfriend, Sting who was smiling at them happily.
"Sting?"
"Who else would it be, come on get up"
Sting held his hand out to Rogue who hesitated before taking his hand tightly, Sting grinned at them and pulled them into a hug, oh how much Rogue has missed his hugs that they immediately hugged him back tightly.
"Rogue! Rogue!"
Rogue looked around then down at the green exceed hugging their leg.
"Frosch!"
Rogue knelt down and hugged the exceed and began to cry again, they missed their precious cat so much that they don't ever want to let go of Frosch again.
"Rogue come on you're crying again stop that"
Sting knelt down and wiped Rogues tears and pulled them up, Rogue holding Frosch in one arm as they held Stings hand.
"Sorry, i'm so sorry Sting"
"Sorry? For what, you didn't do anything wrong you know, besides crying you big goof now lets go everyone is waiting for you to come home"
"Everyone?"
Rogue looked up and noticed everyone from their guild was a few feet away, Yukino waving and smiling at them, Minerva waving them over, Orga smiling as Rufus tilted his hat up, Lector flying beside them all, Rogue tried so hard not to cry again as they began to shake once more.
"You must be cold, come on lets go"
"Yeah okay"
Rogue ran behind Sting, gripping his hand tightly as the both of them made their way towards their guildmates.
"Thank you Natsu."
