Yukino was going to deliver Sting and Rogues child today and Rogue was really happy to have a baby in the family, he had everything ready for the baby to arrive. Sting on the other had wasn't as excited as Rogue was, he was actually pretty nervous and scared for the baby to arrive, Rogue was sitting right next to Sting since neither one of them was allowed in the room until the nurses and Yukino were done. Rogue stared at Stings nervous expression and held his husbands hand.
"Sting are you okay?"
Sting looked at Rogue and only gave a nod in response before looking down at the ground, Rogue frowned he didn't like seeing his husband look a little bothered no matter what it was.
"Sting tell me the truth what's wrong?"
"It's nothing Rogue"
Rogue stood up and dragged Sting over to somewhere more private.
"Speak, what is wrong? You only look like that when something is bothering you"
"Nothing is-"
"Is it Yukino?"
"No Rogue"
"Is it me"
"No Rogue"
"Is it the baby?"
Sting didn't respond to him at all, only looking down at the floor, not bothering to look up at him.
"It is isn't it? Did you not wan-"
"No no I wanted a kid Rogue I really did but I'm scared"
"Scared of what Sting you have to tell me"
Rogue placed both hands on Stings cheeks and moved his head up to look at the worry and fear in Stings ocean blue eyes, he caressed his cheek and placed a gentle kiss on his forehead to calm Sting down a bit.
"I'm scared that I might not be a good enough dad for our little boy Rogue, we were raised by dragons not by actual parents"
Sting leaned against Rogue and held his husbands back, Rogue held onto him and rubbed his back softly.
"Sting, I've known you for years and I can tell you now that you have nothing to be afraid of, you'll be a great dad, have you seen how you turned out without a parent to take care of you, how you took care of me when I was sick and too weak to do anything"
Sting closed his eyes as he relaxed in Rogues arms.
Sting placed a hand over his friends forehead, he frowned at how hot it felt.
"Rogue you're really burning up that's not good"
"I'm fine"
"Rogue you can barely stand up, let me take care of you okay? I'll treat you how a mother would treat their child when they are sick"
"You don't-"
"I know I know but if I don't take care of you, you might die and I don't want you to die Rogue"
Sting hugged Rogue the best he could, Rogue slowly moved his hand up and put it on Stings head and patted it. Sting smiled and sat up, holding onto Rogues hand.
"I'll make you some soup and get you an ice pack to cool down your fever okay, so you just rest"
Rogue nodded at Sting and closed his eyes as his friend took care of his sickness.
"You may not be a good dad but you'll be the greatest mom this kid will have"
"I'm not a woman Rogue"
"Sting come on you know what I meant, you will give the kid all the support and love a mother would give their own child and you've went through so much that our child might need your advice"
Rogue stroked the back of Stings head and kissed his cheek. Sting smiled as Rogue comfort him the best he could. He felt a whole lot better about this and nodded at him.
"Thanks Rogue, I feel better thank you"
"You're very welcome now let's go see our little boy"
Rogue said, gripped tightly onto Stings hand and smiled. Sting nodded and followed him right out back to where they were. A nurse came out and smiled at them.
"The baby and the surrogate mother are ready to see the dads"
Rogue smiled and looked over Sting to see the nervous look slowly coming back, he nodded at the nurse and said thank you before entering the room and saw an exhausted looking Yukino and a baby laying in a glass bed with pillows in it.
"Hey Sting, Hi Rogue"
Yukino said weakly and waved at the two men, Rogue smiled and let go of Stings hand for a second and walked up to Yukino and gave her a hug.
"You did great Yukino, thank you so much"
"You're very welcome Rogue now go look at your and Stings child and let me rest for a moment. Rogue nodded and looked at the baby sleeping, he smile and careful picked him up and held him close to his chest.
"Hello Weiss, I'm your daddy and I'm going to protect you, and you have to promise to be daddy's little prince"
Rogue said as he bounced the child in his arms, he looked over at Sting who stood at the door, staring at him and the baby. Rogue smiled and walked over to Sting and showed him the sleeping baby.
"Want to hold me Sting?"
"Wha-"
"Don't worry Sting okay just hold your arms out like me"
Sting nodded and copied him and looked at Rogue as he carefully set the baby in his arms. Rogue smiled and watched Sting as he nervously looked at his husband then his baby boy.
"Uhh hi Weiss, I'm your mom like dad, weird I know but I'm going to support whatever you do, make sure you are loved everyday and that no matter what even if you stop loving me that I will continue to love you and that you will always be my little boy"
Sting said and kissed the babies head, Rogue smiled at him and held the baby as he kissed Stings cheek.
"See, you are a great mom and dad"
He said and looked at Weiss as he squirmed in the blanket he said in and tried to open his eyes, Sting blinked and smiled as he got a glimpse of the baby's eyes they were purple a mix of blue and red. Sting smiled and tickled Weiss's tummy as the baby let out a whimper and move his tiny arms under the blanket. Rogue watched Sting get slowly attached to the baby and hum a song, Rogue went to sit down and watched the peaceful moment until Sting set down Weiss back in his little bed and the baby began to cry. Sting got seriously nervous and looked at Rogue.
"Rogue! Help!"
"Just pick him up again"
Sting nodded and picked Weiss up and bounced him around until he stopped crying.
"Our kid is going to be so spoiled"
"He takes after you Sting, always wanting to be given attention and touched it's like taking care of another you"
Rogue laughed as Sting grinned and walked over to him and sat beside him. The two of them messed with the baby until the nurses told them that visiting time was over and that they had to leave, Sting put the baby back then gave gave Yukino a quick hug before leaving with Rogue, he held his husbands hand and kissed his hand.
"Thank you Rogue for giving me confidence on loving our kid"
"You are welcome Sting, I love you so much"
Sting stopped walking and pulled Rogue close, placing his hands on his cheeks a lightly kissed his lips, Rogue smiled and kissed him back, placing his hands on his waist.
"Let's wait until Weiss comes homes so he can get a load of kisses"
"Yeah"
