after luke had left for his individual therapy, tate had stood beside me while we walked to our group therapy session.

"i'm sorry about everything maylin. i know you'll probably never forgive me, but i am sorry." tate nudge my arm as we took our seats.

"well im sure lukes going to make you watch over me anyways so we might as well get along. apology accepted." i nodded.

it's not okay. i don't want him to think what he did or atleast planned on doing was okay, so rather than saying 'i forgive you' , i'll accept the apology.

"alright, let's start off with maylin today. I was informed that you had an incident last night?" our all too cheery therapist questioned.

I froze in my seat not sure what to say. i didn't want to explain what happened without luke by my side to comfort me. i didn't want to explain at all.

"i-i just freaked out over something dumb. that's all." i shook off the questioned.

"do you want to share who the person you've been seeing is? i assume with your condition that it is a person your seeing correct?" she pushed on.

i looked at tate for any sort of direction but all he did was give me a sympathetic look and shrug.

"can i be excused?" I asked rather than answering her previous question. she nodded and i bolted out of the room.

"what's wrong maylin?" ace asked suddenly appearing beside me.

"go away!" i ran ahead of her and up the stairs towards lukes room. he had a handful of my medication in his room that was for emergencies only, and this i consider an emergency.

"you cant run from me maylin, i told you im here to stay" she chuckled trailing behind me.

i struggled with opening his door but finally got it.

i rushed over to his drawer and grabbed the small container full of meds and downed about three of them.

everything seemed to settle down a bit so I stepped back and leaned against lukes bed for a moment.

"maybear." luke grinned leaning against the door frame. "im proud of you." he smiled wide showing off his dimples.

i smiled sheepishly and walked into his open arms. he ran his hand softly up and down my back and swayed us back and forth. "how was therapy?" he asked pulling away to look me in the eyes.

"i bailed after they asked me about yesterday." i chuckled. "im sorry i wasn't there. i bailed too when i lost my shit a few days ago." he spilled.

"can i ask you a question?" i went over and sat cross legged on the edge of his bed. he followed and sat directly across from me.

"shoot." he nodded. "that night, when everything was bad with alaina, why did you tell me not to call you lucas?" i bit my lip nervously.

his face turned stone cold and he clenched his jaw tightly. "my dad used to call me lucas all the time. the only other name he'd call me was 'lukey' when he teased me about things. since i obviously hated my father enough to kill the bastard, i hate the name too." he spat.

i layed my hand on his now whitened knuckles because of how tightly he had bawled his fists. "i didn't mean to upset you." i muttered laying my head on his shoulder.

"no no, you're okay. i always get bitter when i talk about my dad. how's your dad?" he asked.

i sighed just thinking about him. i didn't get one letter, phone call, nothing.

"we don't have the best relationship. after the accident with my mom, he distanced himself from me like i was some kind of freak that he didn't want to be around. i tried and tried to get closer to him but all he ever did was push me away." i shrugged.

luke scoffed. "you don't deserve shitty parents maylin."

"well i don't have any parents at all right now and that's all that matters to me." i grinned.
