Chapter 8: Clayton and Nina, For the Future

(An odd choice my school has for a graduation requirement, but I am thankful for it. It is important to learn about jobs and what kind of career you want to excel in. Around this time, I happen to stumble upon Hugtto Precure. This anime is really good. It helped me realize that a) things cannot last forever and will need a proper ending. b) Your future is bright no matter what happens. You can do anything and be anything! Hooray! Hooray everyone! (Nina's POV)

           So, my school requires me to take an internship before I graduate. I am a bit nervous about this though. Sure, most of the world is aware of us using magic, but we still have to be cautious about it. I entered the elevator and clutched the journal close to my chest. This isn't the journal that Soren has! This is a journal for taking notes and learning about the jobs here. I am at Ash Brokeage for the week. I like math a lot and do like explaining it to others, so I thought it would be a great idea to observe and study actuarial science. Basically, that is a person who knows the data really well and explain it to others! It can help a person with their multiple insurances.

"Ah, you must be Nina, right?" a gentleman wearing kaki pants and red collar shirt asked politely.

He had glasses and light brown hair. Aw crap! I overdressed! I am wearing a white dress!

"Yes, I am!" I said as I stood up and faced him.

"Hello. I am Brad. I work with the analytic team" he said as he extended his hand out for me to shake.

I quickly shook his hand and then followed him to his desk. I sat behind him and began to take notes on his work. Wow, he works hard to reconnect with people and help them find the best insurance plans. His team is even working on this website to help others too. He also is working hard and enjoying his job. He's very happy about it too.

"I enjoy helping others like this. It is a nice way to get to know others and help them" he said to me as I looked at his work, "This new software allows us to reach out to more of agents and help them as much as we can. That's just a big reason for me to keep working hard and doing my best"

My eyes were wide. He really enjoys his work that much?! Well, it was about time for me to switch groups. I found myself in a very odd group, but they were laughing and enjoying themselves as I arrived. A girl with glasses, brown wavy hair, green shirt and blue jeans approached me. She was trying to suppress a laugh and walked towards me.

"Hi, I'm Lizzie. I swear we get work done here" she uttered through her silence.

I just nodded my head. I was a bit afraid to say something wrong when I approached her. One of her coworkers shouted something about foosball. I wanted to play, but I am here to learn. The men all left and ran to the table as I took my seat next to Miss Lizzie.

"Are you coding?" I asked surprised as I looked at her computer.

"Yes. I am trying to find the right codes to find the right equation for these set of numbers in excel" she explained as she showed excel and coding on her two monitors.

I quickly took some notes as she explained it.

"So, what do you do with these numbers?" I asked her I looked at the charts.

"We collect the data and then display it on the website. Then, we show the data to others and help them find the best retirement plans. After all, not everyone knows about their money plans in the future, so we help them make sure they have enough money for their future' she answered as she tried another formula.

I quickly made some notes as I examined the screen. She was still trying to find the right formula. She wasn't giving up.

"So, why do you do this?" I asked her curiously.
