"There are five kingdoms, the demons, the elves, the humans, the nymphs, and the were-creatures. One day a demon with hair and skin as dark as the night sky and eyes as red as rubies split the five lands and created strife between them. War broke out between the borders of these lands; the only way that it is said that they can be mended again is by five people of the five kingdoms who can find the good and evil in everyone. One day these five heroes will unite and save the kingdoms. Some may fall and some may rise, it all depends on which path they take."

A young woman with pale skin and white hair closed an old yellowing book. The book's cover was brown and spotted with age. The title of the book was so old that it couldn't be read out, but the letters that you could read were gold and loopy, almost like calligraphy.

"Okay my little pup, it's time to go to sleep now," She said to a young boy who had two tiny pitch-black wolf ears and hair.

"But mama I don't want to go to bed. Can you please read me another story," The young pup whined, he tried to open the book back up again but the young woman kept it closed.

"No, little one we have a long journey ahead of us," She said. She reached over and tucked the young boy in and kissed him on the forehead. The boy had bright blue eyes and dark skin, his black hair swept across his face. The woman brushed his hair back behind his ear. "It's bedtime my little pup. I love you, goodnight."

"Goodnight mama, I love you too."

The room that they were in was a small tent. All of their possessions were able to be packed up and stored easily. The boy was laying in a patchy, dark grey sleeping bag.

The woman reached over and turned off a lantern that lay by the boy's head.
