there is a white rain falling down
it's pouring off the crowded clouds
and there i sit
just outside of it
on spotted pavement
watching cut offs of curbs washed white
as it runs off into gutters below our feet
leaving in its wake loose coats of paint
on shoe indented streets
and my hands hold up my face
that's speckled in white droplets
like freckles formed of torrential downpour
while i sit there and watch the white rain
as it envelops this place we have never exalted
as it falls from god's eyes
and lands on open hands of unbelievers
how very holy
