Octavia:
I woke up to Bellamy standing over me and Clarke close by. "Welcome back O." Bellamy said looking down at me. "What happened?" I asked confused. "You had another seizure" Bellamy said. I sighed. This was my 3rd seizure today which meant things were only getting more serious. "Does that mean it’s worse?" I asked Bellamy. Bellamy just looked at the floor. "Its okay Bellamy. I'll just push through like always." I forced a smile. Bellamy looked into my eyes and said "you shouldn't have to." I sighed and looked to Clarke. "I'm okay Clarke. They happen a lot." I say trying to calm her nerves. She nodded and said "well I guess we will have to stick together." I smiled and nodded.Clarke:
The nurses came in and started hooking Octavia up to a ton of machines. Octavia didn’t mind it at all. I sat in my bed and watched them. Octavia kept a smile on her face as they inserted needles into her arms. I wasn’t feeling too great myself but I couldn’t even imagine what Octavia was going through. After they finished we talked for hours. It got dark and the lights had to stay off because it was late. I learned a lot about Octavia and her life and she learned a lot about me. We both promised to be there for each other through thick and thin. As I continued to talk I realized that I was not getting any response back. I turned my light on my phone on and shone it over to her bed. She was asleep. I smiled and turned the light off. I was so glad to have a friend. Especially someone who understands me.
Octavia:
I woke up the next morning and saw Clarke in her bed asleep. I smiled and felt something weird in my stomach...but it was a good weird. I got up and went towards the bathroom holding a medical rolling cart. In a few rooms down, two parents were hovering over a child. She was 7. She was dying. I knew the girl from talks before. She was one of the little girls that I grew close with during my stay. I walked in and took the girls hand. The parents looked up at me with tears in their eyes and smiled. The little girl smiled at me and said “Octavia...Can..Can you say our saying? The one we say before every surgery that you came up with?” She was shaking and terrified. I squeezed her hand and said “Look into your heart and find your courage for you are never alone when friends have already built wings on your heart.” I said holding back my own tears. The little girl smiled and grasped my hand. “Th-Thank you for being so amazing to me Octavia. I will be your guardian angel. I will try to help you get rid of this awful sickness...I love you.” She said. A tear rolled down my face as I said “I love you too.” I looked to the parents crying and smiling and they nodded. I nodded back and felt the grip on her hand fall. She was gone. I kissed her forehead and said “rest easy beautiful.” I turned around and saw Clarke just outside in shock. I walked over to her and we left the room to give the parents time.Clarke:
I had never seen something so beautiful. Octavia took this girls fear and turned it to hope. As soon as we got to our room she looked to me and held back crying. “Octavia.” I said pulling her into a hug. She started crying and I held onto her tight. As she cried I ran through the quote in my head. “What you said was so beautiful. You helped her feel safe Octavia.” I said. She pulled away and looked to me. “It’s something I have ran through all of the cancer patients. As soon as I find out a kid is going into surgery I go to their room and tell them that to give them hope and security.” She says wiping her tears. I smiled “That’s amazing.” I said. She was more amazing than I thought she would be.
