Bellamy's POV:
I walk into the hospital, the air foggy and green the weather is windy and dreary. It's started pouring rain and the lights in the hospital flicker, hopefully, Octavia doesn't have any seizures or codes today! The hospital is in chaos racing against the storm to get all patients settled in. I find Clarke, Madi, and Octavia sitting in their room on the couch, they have unfolded it out into a bed and are watching TV. In the upper right-hand corner, I see a radar of the storm. It looks like a hurricane but it's green and shifting, there is lightning striking inside of it. One strike echoes loudly and Madi shrieks when there is a big clash of lighting and rumbling and the power goes out. "You'll be okay, you're not alone. The generators will turn the power back on." It's quite then there is a flicker and a low hum. She smiles but stays snuggled in with Clarke and Octavia. "What were you guys up too before I came in."
Octavia adjusts her position so she is sitting up. She has more strength and more color in her face than yesterday. "We were talking about Madi and how she is an orphan and she doesn't have anyone but now she has us." I sit in the chair and watch the radar as the hurricane looking storm shifts. Octavia starts to get up but gets dizzy and falls back against the couch. I put my hand on her back trying to help keep her from getting sick or passing out. Clarke reaches out and holds her hand telling her to focus on her breathing. All the while never letting go of Madi.
One minute everything was fine then all of a sudden it was like time froze. The atmosphere changed and I saw the spinning green cyclone outside the window. Headed right this why it was expanding. With Octavia so weak she wouldn't get away from the blast fast enough. So I used myself to cover Clarke, Madi, and Octavia. I heard the window shatter and a high pitched whistle. I heard Madi and Octavia scream but then it was cut off by them disappearing in green smoke, followed by Clake and then myself.
I lay dazed and groggy staring into the darkness. I try to remember what happened, and then I was worried about where Octavia might be. Then I heard voices; one female and a male. The female states; "The girls are showing positive signs to our treatment. And since we have taken away the medicine that was causing their cancer to worsen we will start seeing more improvement over the next several days." Then the guy states, "I think we should let Bellamy know what is happening. He has been raising his sister since she was little. This isn't going to go well." What medicine was causing Octavia's condition to worsen, I tried to think about it. There was only one medication that Octavia, Madi, and Clarke were all taking.
"Oh you're awake, hello Bellamy I am Doctor Miller and this is Doctor Moore, we traveled to your planet to rescue your sister, her girlfriend, and their daughter Madi." Said the female in a white lab coat she was holding a tablet with charts.
"Whoa, Madi isn't their daughter. What are you people talking about? What medication was killing my sister? Why would they do this to her or to Madi? She is just a kid!?" I was annoyed, concerned, and panicked.
"Your right but she soon will be but if we hadn't stepped in when we did your sister wasn't going to make the six months she had left. They were increasing the dose that each of the girls got gradually which was causing them to be nauseous and dizzy and cause seizure making the tumors spread more rapidly." I stared in disbelief at the doctors.
"Why would they be doing this to people? Why to a child as young as Madi?" I sat back against the cot that I woke up-on.
"Well all three girls didn't have much family, none in Clarke and Madi's case. But as far as we can tell they were treating them as lab rats testing all treatments and medication on them. But Octavia and Clarke will save the world; all three have a genetic marker that sets them apart from you or even us."
"How can we be anything special? You guys came through a freaking cyclone and took us from our planet, how is that even possible?" I watched as they glanced at one another and I felt like they were leaving something out.
The male Dr. Moore spoke up, "It's called a bridge. We used it to transport you guys here it was faster and more convenient to get them here safely. You have a genetic marker in your blood that makes you immune to radiation. So does Clarke, Mad, and Octavia, it's why the Chemo affected the girls differently than the other cancer patients. They tested it on. Charlotte, Lincoln, Lexa their bodies couldn't metabolize the radiation at the rate they were receiving it. The doctor's on your planet couldn't figure out how Octavia was alive. She has been sick for years, they were going to put her through another surgery but tell you she didn't make it so they could send her to a lab to test her blood." I looked at him like he was crazy after all he was talking like he knew what the future held. The female doctor watched the charts on the tablet. All three charts had green bars. She looked pleased with the results, whatever they are.
" I know this can't be easy to understand but we are only trying to help. We will explain more." Before they could an alarm timer went off on the tablet.
"Is there something wrong with them?" I watched as she hit a few tabs and she hit an off tab in a control window.
"Madi has finished her treatment, she will be waking up in an hour or so, I promise I will explain it all then but would you like to eat and take a shower, I can show you to your place." She sounded kind of nervous, and I was more confused than ever, but they walked past an observation window and I saw Octavia, Clarke, and Madi. All three looked visibly healthier, color returning to Octavia's cheeks that I hadn't seen in years. Her body was even fuller looking; she didn't look malnourished or small and they actually had IV drips and everything hooked up giving them fluids. They led me out of the building and down the sidewalk there was a car waiting. I climbed in but before the driver left I wanted to ask Dr. Miller a question.
"Can I come back right after and be here for them when they wake up?" She looked up from her tablet. "I am going with you to make sure you get settled in if the treatment finishes on time and their levels remain steady then they will be able to come home tomorrow. Also this way you will still be able to monitor your sister." She keeps the tablet visible at all times we drive for like ten mins to a white house with a fenced-in yard. I open the door and walk inside. There are four bedrooms and two bathrooms. My room has all my stuff in it as I had left it this morning back on earth, Octavia's too only difference she had a queen bed instead of her twin. The third room was a light green room and it had toys and crafts and a wooden M hung over the bed. I'm guessing it's Madi's room. The last room was the office I worked in when Octavia was home and I didn't want to leave her but still needed to get work done. "How does this place look like my place back on earth?"
"We wanted you and the girls to feel at home as much as possible so everything is as you left it back on earth only different is Madi's room and that this is a house and not an apartment." I ate rather quickly and then we went back to the place that the girls were. Madi was stirring and they said it wasn't much longer before she woke up. I had asked why Madi's treatment was shorter and they explained that she didn't have as much of the medicine and cancer in her system as Clarke and Octavia did. I watched her open her eyes and she seemed scared but when she saw me she calmed down a little.
"Bell, where are we?" She looks over to Clarke and Octavia. "Why aren't they awake?" I saw her lip quiver and she started crying..
"Madi, it's going to be okay. They are having the same treatment you had, do you feel nauseous or dizzy? Do you feel any pain?" She shook her head no. "These doctors here are helping save them okay don't be scared. You know that green spinning thing that scared you?" I don't know if she saw it but I was trying to explain it the best I could when even I didn't really know what it was. "Well, it was these people they took us from that hospital that was making you and Clarke and Octavia sicker."
She looked up at me still unsure but she knew I wouldn't hurt her, "I know bell, I had a dream about them last night, them coming to help and take us away. I asked them to wait until you got there. So you could come with us, I didn't know it was really real. I thought it was just a dream." I looked at her and she looked around the room then at Dr. Moore. " I'm hungry, can I eat now?" I laugh at how straight forward she is for a five-year-old.
