Chapter 8
Past
>EriI adverted my eyes to the limousines floor, "W-well.. you just reminded me of something that happened with my mother... I-I was walking with her to one of the 'commoners' markets one day... a-and", I began stuttering, gulpping my saliva in attempt to make my shaking stop.
I felt Kyoya's thumb move on the soft skin on the back of my hand, which encouraged me to continue. I nodded, refocusing on what I had been saying, "And we were walking back to the limo, w-when... these, really tall thugs blocked our path..", I said, squeezing Kyoya's hand tightly.
"T-hey knocked out my mom.. she got a severe concussion.. she has amnesia... she doesn't remember anything about me", I said, before remembering the events of the day before, "B-but, yesterday she finally began talking about me... after.. after t-ten y-ye-ears", I stuttered, hugging him as a mixture of fear and happiness entered me.
I began crying, silently, yet still very distinctive. I began feeling secure when I felt a large hand gently stroke my back. The action made my sobbing increase, wishing to myself that I had the courage to repeat the rest of the events of that day, which I hadn't even been able to tell Hiro.
He continued stroking my back, "She'll remember you, don't worry too much, or you'll hurt yourself", he said, "Haven't you gone to visit her".
His question made me cling onto Kyoya hopelessly, "... When I went to see her the first time... she thought I was one of the thugs... she couldn't even look at me, she was scared of me", I cried, burying myself into Kyoya's shoulder.
"Sorry", I heard Kyoya whisper, making me aware of how much he was concerned about me.
I tried steading my breathing, letting go of Kyoya once I had done so. I looked back at him, "I'm s-sorry, I didn't mean to vent like this", I said, a single tear rolling down my cheek. I quickly wiped it away, looking up to see a surprised Kyoya, sitting beside me. Oh.. this is the first time Kyoya had ever seen me cry...
He looked at me for a while, "Let's wait in here for a bit... you don't want everyone else to worry about why you were crying, then having to explain to them", he said sympathetically. I nodded, softening my grip around Kyoya, but never releasing him. He began to awkwardly pat my back, begining to smile at his obvious discomfort. The action made me feel a bit better, yet I still felt a pit of sadness hidden inside me. I brushed off the heart dropping feeling, and began moving myself away from his warmth.
I wipped any tears that had been on my face, and rested my head on Kyoya’s shoulder without giving it any thought.
I heard Kyoya clear his throat, which made me look up at him, “.. For a shy person, you are quite brave”, he said, smirking.
I backed away from him, my face flushing a crimson red, “I-I.. d-don’t be so surprised”, I stuttered, looking at him in shock.
He let out a relieved sigh, “I can see you are feeling better, now let’s go, baka”, he said, opening the door, giving us a clear exit.
I rushed out of the wide opening, running into a building. That bastard, why does he make my abnormal heart rate appear, jeez..
I was greeted by a short blonde sitting on the doorsteps, hugging a pink bunny, which wore a bright red ribbon. I stared at my senpai for a while, “S-senpai, what are you doing here”, I asked, confused on why he hadn’t entered the mansion.
He looked up at me happily, “Hikaru and Kaoru told me to wait here until you were done with your business, and to wink at you”, he beamed, the winked at me just like the twins told him to do.
