Courtney slowly closed the office doors behind her. Locking them in place.

She turned around to see all the other girls standing there, confused as to why they had been called in for a meeting

"You're sure this office is noise proof?" Courtney asked Bridgette, who nodded.

"Sebastian likes his privacy when he has his meetings," she said.

Gwen sighed "What are we doing here? I should be out there trying to figure out a way to get Trent back-"

"That's exactly what we're doing here. I have a plan," Courtney said. Turning heads

"And why should we trust you?" Zoey, a warrior asked.

"Because I'm mated to the Higher Up. So I know my shit," Courtney said.

"What is this plan?" Gwen asked with a sigh. Courtney looked at Bridgette

"You wanna explain?" she said. Bridgette nodded and nervously stepped forward

"I know a Witch,"

Gwen and Zoey's fangs came out and they hissed sharply. Courtney jumped

"What the hell are you thinking talking to a witch?" Zoey snarled.

"Wait... I don't get it. What's the big deal with witches?" Courtney asked

"Witches are evil beings who hate vampires, they can't be trusted" Gwen snarled.

"Well, we can trust this one," Bridgette said

"How can you be so sure?" Zoey asked

"Because," Bridgette sighed "She's my Mother,"

Silence filled the room. You could hear a pin drop.

"She's your... Mother?" Gwen asked, her fangs retracting.

Bridgette nodded solemnly "She... has done horrible things in the past yes. To our kind. But... After I was turned against my will, her entire views changed. She stopped with the genocides and dark magic. She now owns a house far up in the mountains where she can practice peaceful magic in peace. She would never hurt any of us. Especially if you're traveling with me." Bridgette said.

Courtney slowly walked over to Gwen "Gwen, Bridgette's Mother could be the only leverage we have against the Authority. The only weapon we have to get Trent back home safely... Please" Courtney said, looking into the other girl's dark eyes.

"When can we go? I'll call Mike-"

"No. We can't let our mates come," Bridgette said "She has vowed to stop hurting vampires, but members of the Resistance are still a no for her. Their male energy messes with her spirit. It's going to have to be just us girls," Bridgette said.

"Even so, what's to stop our mates from hightailing their asses after us? We all know the idea of their mates out and about without any protection will be enough to drive them mad," Zoey said.

Courtney smirked "You're precisely right, Zo. That is why we have to make them think were doing something else. Something completely safe. We mark our blood on a piece of our clothing and send Cody to town with the clothing in the car. He'll tell them that he's just taking us to get some groceries or something. They'll follow the scent of our blood that way and no to where we will actually be going,"

Gwen slowly clapped "Wow. Quite the plan. I'm so impressed," she smirked. Courtney rolled her eyes and looked around

"We leave at midnight, before the guys get back from the training session. We will leave a note saying we went out with Cody and it'll give us plenty of time. Everyone agree?"
