The Other Merryweather ~ Robin De Noir [1]

Chapter 14

Robin raced to the cliff's edge, "ROSE!", he cried, tears forming in his eyes. "Why did she have to jump off!" he thought, but he did know why, it was so unfair. He hated what this family feud had done to her, it had gone on far too long. He gazed into the oceans's mysterious depths, showing no signs of mercy for the brave, kind and forgiving girl he had come to know. He didn't want her to go now, they hadn't spent enough time together, he was only just getting to know her. 

Just then the earth shook as the moon hit the sea, he starred back in fear, as suddenly a humungous wave appeared, he stood back, but in the distance he could swear he saw a team of horses galloping through the wave. As it got closer, he covered himself with his hands afraid of the impact, but nothing came. When he looked up, a beautiful white unicorn was standing on the cliff's edge, where Rose and Maria were standing just a minute ago. Wait. There were two figures resting on the back of the unicorn. Rose and Maria!  Sir Benjamin and Loveday rushed to the two girls, Robin stood back with his father, shocked by the previous events. "Sweet child, you're alright", Sir Benjamin cried whilst hugging Rose. Loveday helped Maria off, "Maria", she said with a smile

Rose somehow looked even more beautiful then before to Robin, she was no longer covered in scars and bruises, and when she walked towards him, she no longer had a limp.  She smiled at him, and he smiled back. When she reached him, they stood still for a moment, before collapsing into each others arms, hugging tightly. When the broke apart, Rose smiled, "Miss me?", 

"No, anyone could have done that", Robin teased, whilst receiving a playful smack from Loveday. "I am glad everything is sorted out", Sir Benjamin stated, but then out of the shadows approached a big, black lion. "Cats teeth", Rose's uncle cried, and everyone froze in their spot, "Don't worry uncle, it's just Wrolf", Maria smiled. Rose looked into the lions eyes, and she saw Wrolf, it was him. She laughed gaily as World made he was up to the unicorn, and sat beside them. 

Sir Benjamin turned to Loveday, "please forgive my stubborn pride", he said and looked lovingly into her eyes. He turned to Rose and gave her a quick smile, Rose smiled back. He got onto one knee and began, "Loveday...", but was cut short when one of Coeur De Noir's soldiers shouted out "stop right there, I'll will finish this myself!" He shouted whilst aiming a gun at Rose and Maria, but then out of the shadows Miss Heliotrope appeared and began hitting him with her umbrella, Rose and Maria laughed at their guardian beating the gruff soldier. "my dears are you alright?" she asked once she was finished with him. "Yes, thank you Miss Heliotrope", Rose laughed whilst hugging her. 

Sir Benjamin went to continue his interrupted proposal, but then Digweed muttered something to Miss Heliotrope which caused her to blush. "Well then nothing to be done", Sir Benjamin smiled. Everyone turned around to look at the unicorn and lion, the curse was broken, the families united. Rose felt and hand brush hers, it was Robin, she allowed their fingers to intertwine, she looked ahead in to the horizon, blushing, which brought with it a promise for tomorrow.
