~Narrators POV~
"You can't pull the plug on this operation, we believe we are very close to taking down this drug cartel." Agent Hefner argued with the chief of police for Aguas Buenas, Neron Padilla.

"I can't just allow you to come in here, far from your jurisdiction without legal documentation saying you've been approved to spy on my people. You DEA guys have been known to walk right in, create a shit storm, and leave. I am not going to let that happen in my town." He closed the door to his office, leaving Hefner on the other side.

"What do we do now?" Brian asked

"For now, we do what the man says.. Until the papers get approved, then we'll be back."

"And the mole you requested?"

"Are they on the inside?"

"It's in motion." Brian assured.

"Leave them there. The longer they work on Esparza's trust, the better." Hefner packed up his borrowed desk. The last thing going in his briefcase was a framed picture of his brother. The same man that lost his life, along with two other men, in the DEA safe house explosion.

"So what? You guys are just going to leave?" Agent Stahl questions, leaning back in her rolling chair.

"As of now."

"Well," she stood up, fixing her badge on his waistband, "I'll hang around a little bit, under the radar. Maybe even test how committed these Las Estrellas women are to their men, huh?"

She had a small smirk on her face. She's been working with the DEA for a little over 12 years now. Her every move was smart, but very manipulative.

"Don't underestimate any of them and try not to get yourself killed." Hefner wished her the best of luck, "we'll be back in less than a week."

~Gloria~

I woke up to loud knocking at the bedroom door

"Lino, the door."

I groaned, turning in bed. It was most likely for him anyway. A few seconds later, the knocking grew louder.

"I heard you, damn it."

Lino yelled at whoever it was, slowly getting up.

"You're gonna take the door off the goddamn hinges." He stepped aside as Gemma let herself inside the room

"Sorry. Thought you might have upped and died on me in here."

Gemma exaggerates. She had large shopping bags with her, that she set down on the chair in the corner of the room.

"Well, if we did, knocking louder ain't gonna help."

He rubbed his face, sitting at the edge of the bed.

"I've been known to wake the dead."

She had a small smile on her face as he looked up at her and chuckled.

"Just dropping those off for Gloria. And I hope you didn't forget, Jose is coming back today so you two better be up." She waved a finger at the both of us, walking out and shutting the door behind her.

"Who's Jose?" I asked. He groaned laying back down, resting his head on my lap.

"Gemma's husband. He was in Colombia, expanding our connections. He can be a real asshole though.

"So your evil step-daddy?" I joke, cause him to chuck a pillow at me but missed.

"No." He rolled over, burying his face in the duvet cover.
