"So how did you like being an only child growing up?" I asked Cole, who just shrugged.

"I don't have anything to compare it to, so I guess it wasn't so bad. I did get jealous of my friends and their siblings when I was young, especially since my dad was always working. But then again, it did make my mom and I that much closer."

I smiled, "So you have a good relationship with your mom?" I asked.

He nodded and smiled, "Yeah, she's the best. She was also cheer captain in high school. I bet she would love you."

I blushed. Cole thought his mom would love me? It was a crazy thought that I might be able to meet his parents. Only in my wildest dreams would I be here in my bed with Cole Rodriguez, kissing him, going to homecoming with him next week, and possibly meeting his family. It was all so insane.

It felt like only a couple of minutes had passed by but the clock on my side table read 10:34 pm. It's Thursday night and I still have to choreograph the cheer routine for the homecoming game next Friday. At this point I kind of want to put it off until tomorrow but Naomi would be upset.

"So, is there a certain time you need to be home?" I asked Cole, kind of hoping he didn't need to go yet.

"I can be out until whenever, but I don't want to overstay my welcome," he said. We had just been sitting in my bed under the covers, watching Netflix. Yes we kissed, but he didn't try to make any moves on me. We just talked and had The Office on Netflix in the background.

"I'd love for you to stay, but Naomi might freak if I don't at least start the cheer routine for the homecoming game," I sighed and rested my head on his shoulder. It was so muscular, but still comforting.

"I can let you get to it," he said, and rested his head on mine.

"Or maybe you can help me," I said, sitting upright. He looked confused. "I envisioned some of it, maybe I can show you and you can tell me what you think."

He raised his eyebrows, "Uh, yes. I'd love to see it. During the games it's hard to get away from the team to watch you cheer and dance."

I hopped out of the bed and walked in front of it. I turned the TV off and played the song on my phone. It was a throwback, but I chose Pom Poms by The Jonas Brothers because it was so fitting.

"It's not much, but oh well," I said and waited for the right part of the song before doing a few cheer moves along to the music. Cole watched every move closely with a smile.

I stopped the music once I was done and let out a breath.

"Wow," Cole said smiling big, then scooted to the end of the bed to get closer, "you just envisioned that in your head, then did it?"

I nodded, "Yeah, that's usually what I do when I choreograph. Just listen to the music first and imagine the moves. My brain kind of does it automatically whenever I hear a good song," I laughed and sat next to him.

"I thought it was amazing. No wonder you're captain. You're extremely talented," Cole said, looking me in the eyes. This time I took the initiative and leaned in to kiss him.

Our lips stuck together and I felt the electricity in my stomach. Our hands wandered all over each other, that is, until I heard the front door slam shut.

We broke away from each other almost instantly and I began panicking.

"Who is that?" Cole asked. I stood up and peeked out my bedroom door quietly.

"I'm not sure," I whispered. That's when I saw Jackson walking up the stairs and to his room. I closed my door quietly before he noticed me and laughed.

"It's Jackson," I said, "I'm not sure if he would care that you're here."

"I can go," he suggested, standing up.

"It's okay, we just need to be quiet," I whispered, and walked back to the bed. "Do you want to watch a movie?" I asked, crawling into bed. Since he likes my routine, I may as well call it a night and just show it to Naomi tomorrow at practice. And usually I don't stay up this late because of how early practice is in the morning, but Cole was worth it.

He smiled and thought about it for a moment then nodded, "Okay. As long as it wont get you into trouble."

"I'm sure Jackson will just pass out anyways," I shrugged then patted the spot next to me. Cole came back under the covers with me. "I'm really glad you're here," I said to him, grabbing the remote to look through movies.

"Thanks for having me over," Cole said, sliding closer to me and putting his arm around my shoulders.

Suddenly there was a knock on my door.

Cole and I looked at each other then back at the door.

"Maya?"

I put my pointer finger over my lips, signaling Cole to be quiet. I didn't move so he wouldn't hear us.

Jackson knocked again. "Maya, you home?"

I heard him begin walking away after not hearing anything. I smiled at Cole and waited until I heard his door close before I spoke.

"Okay, we are good," I said, and laughed softly.

Cole shook his head at me, "Would Jackson be mad that I'm here?"

I shrugged, "I don't think he'd be mad, but I'm pretty sure he would tell my mom and she definitely would be mad."

I scrolled through the movies and Cole squeezed me a little tighter. "That's understandable," he said, then stopped me, "Wait! We've got to watch Happy Gilmore."

"Oh my gosh, I'm down," I said, pressing play. "It's a classic."

"For sure. I've seen it a million times, but it never gets old," Cole said. I looked up at him and smiled. Cole leaned down and kissed my nose slowly, then kissed my lips.

He pulled me in closer and we held each other while we kissed. I could feel my body warm up and my legs began to tingle. It felt like my heart was going to beat out of my chest. I'm literally kissing my biggest crush since junior high.

He pulled away from kissing me and held me close as we watched Happy Gilmore.
