Mature chapter
It was now or never. I have to decide if I want to stay the night and potentially have sex with Cole. I didn't necessarily get that vibe from him, but Naomi knows more about guys than I do. If she says that is what happens then I should probably take her word for it.
The door opened slowly as I was standing by the dresser. "Hey," Cole smiled.
My heart rate sped up and now I'm feeling uneasy. "Hi," I said, crossing my arms.
"Are you okay?" He asked and sat down on the edge of his perfectly made bed. Cole's room was actually more preppy than I had imagined, with his baby blue sheets, trophies displayed on a neat shelf, and a desk with his back pack and neatly stacked books.
"I'm okay," I nodded, still keeping my arms folded over my chest. Cole looked me dead in the eyes until I finally felt like I needed to speak up again. "I'm just nervous, I don't know."
Cole laughed then stood up and wrapped me in his arms tight. He hugged me, then kissed my neck softly. "Let's just watch a movie and chill. Whatever you are comfortable with."
Maybe Naomi was wrong. I mean, he did kick everyone out of his house just so we could spend time together. Plus, he's officially my boyfriend now. I think he has proved to me and everyone else he is interested in more than just hooking up with me.
He could have been like Damien. Damien is the guy Naomi lost her virginity to last year. It was at a party in some random room and that was it. They see each other at school sometimes, but Naomi hates him. He told everyone and it was a big deal for a week or so. People forgot about it, but I'm sure that is why she tried to warn me.
"Do you need something to change into?" Cole asked, pulling open his drawers. "I can give you a shirt or something? Maybe some shorts?"
I walked over to him, "Yes, please."
Cole searched through looking for the smallest shirt and shorts he could find, but Cole is about 6'2" and he is slim but also kind of muscular.
He handed me a pair of basketball shorts and an ASU t-shirt. I smiled when I saw it, "You like ASU too?" I asked, grinning like I had no idea, but I totally did. The stickers were all over his Jeep.
He couldn't help but smile, "Yeah, what about you?"
I held up my crossed fingers, "Hopefully I get in."
"You and me both," he laughed. "So, you can use my bathroom to change," Cole redirected, then pointed to the door next to his desk.
I walked through the door and closed it behind me. I looked at myself in the mirror for a moment before changing. I wasn't the girl I started high school as. I feel more myself, but also less.
Here I am, the new girlfriend of the most popular guy in school, cheer captain, and I'm still feeling sad. As much as I love this life, something doesn't feel right. I'm still missing something.
After changing and feeling a bit self-conscious in the baggy clothes, I walked out of the bathroom and set my folded clothes on Cole's desk. He was laying on his bed already changed into shorts and a t-shirt with his left arm behind his head and he was scrolling on his phone with his right hand. He looked up and put the phone down. "You look so cute."
I blushed and pushed my hair behind my ear, "Thank you!"
"Let's go out back," Cole said, standing up.
I followed his lead, which I love that he does, and we walked downstairs. Cole grabbed two beers from the fridge then took me out to the backyard. The whole house was pretty messy from people just leaving trash wherever. It was driving me crazy because I love things to be neat.
