Chapter One

Gerard rubbed his clammy palms together, exhaling deeply as he stared at Frank's door.

"I can do this." he whispered to himself, putting his fist up against the wood, as if to knock. He shook his head.

"Nope. Never mind." As he started retreating back down the steps, Gerard heard the door click open.

"Hi," Frank smiled, "you weren't gonna back out on me, were you?"

The red-headed (and red faced) Gerard turned around and smiled nervously, shaking his head slowly. He was unable to speak, so he feebly waved at his date.

"O-of course not..." Gerard stammered.

He walked back up the steps and held out his hand for Frank to take.

Frank took it gladly.
