Simplicity is the sand caking on your feet,
Simplicity is the roaring of a million different seas
Men will make the future, sometimes just for glory
But no fancy car or wall bizarre could come close to a story.
A story can burn brighter than a California fire,
Words can be the difference between hatred and desire
Or they can inspire and be matches to the wick of someones heart
Change the pain that's kept inside to a pain that will depart
Too many think they have to be absurd just so they can simply be
But their complexity is a mask that doesn't allow them to see
If we were to stay away from things that never truly bloom,
We'd speak at dinner tables instead of in war-rooms.
A whiner with his weapons of destruction nuclear,
The reason that he has them is obviously unclear
If only he knew love when he was a little boy,
Maybe there would be no such thing as these weaponized toys.
There's no need for new invention when the world rests upon your tongue
And the tips of your fingers are by themselves unique enough
Simplicity is the acceptance of our own misunderstanding,
Simplicity is the ground on which we're standing.
