What was supposed to be three days of Camila being at the hospital turned to three weeks. The girl couldn’t get to stay at the place anymore and stare at those four walls she knew millimeter by millimeter now, she was about to go insane.

Even though her two friends visited her almost every day, she missed her old routine, and even though she was too proud to admit it aloud, she missed school.

Her mom brought her laptop to the hospital and did everything she could to make the girl feel like she was home, but Camila was an impossible girl to deal with, nothing else would make her satisfied when she knew what she wanted.

The only good thing about it all were Lauren’s visits. Camila’s friendship with the green-eyed girl had grown much stronger; Lauren even dared to make a couple of surprised appearances at the hospital, always bringing gummy bears with her.

The emerald eyed girl had also shown to have a lot in common with the younger brunette, so her visits were always one of the few things that could lift Camila’s mood and calm her down whenever she was feeling like she would go mad staying inside the hospital’s room.

The heavy atmosphere that would always linger upon them whenever they met disappeared after Lauren’s second or third visit.

Camila was never bored by the older brunette, she was actually always interested in whatever story Lauren had to tell about her work, or about something that had happened back at her house.

After a few visits, Camila noticed Lauren’s passion for board games since she brought about four or five to the hospital so they could play.

Camila didn’t like any of the games very much, but she liked some parts of it, like having their hands brushing or accidently hitting each other when they were going to move a piece on the board at the same time, or any of those little accidents in general made the brown-eyed brunette change her opinion about the toy.

Having Lauren around was perfect, but the petite brunette couldn’t help but worry from time to time how everything would be after she got out of the hospital.

Would they stop seeing each other?

Would she have to go back being just the awkward teenager that go everyday buy gummy bears at a grocery store far from her house, just get to see the green eyes?

What if they just fall back on that routine again, or just say hellos and goodbyes when Camila get her normal life back?
Camila would hate that! Normani and Ally had mentioned a friend of Lauren’s they met the other day, Shawn.

They said the boy was handsome and looked a little bit older than all of them, even Lauren.

What if that was the kind of friendship Lauren was used to? She’d probably never want to hang out with people like Camila, and that made the petite brunette either sad when Lauren wasn’t around, or make her seize every moment when the girl was.

Lauren’s visits lifted Camila’s mood, that you can be sure, but now it had been two days since the brunette’s last visit.

The two girls exchanged a couple of texts but it was never enough. Lauren wasn’t good at texting at all, leaving Camila countless times talking alone or visualizing a text and not answering to it.
