Mornings can be beautiful when you wake up, and you hear the birds singing, and you smell the fresh air, and you feel a second of bliss, but it’s sad when this is only for ten seconds, until you realize you’re at a hospital bed, and everything hurts.

Camila opened her eyes and kept looking at the ceiling for some good five minutes.

Turning her head a little bit to the right she could see her mom sleeping in a chair uncomfortably, and even though she’s sleeping, her face screams exhaustion.

The girl starts to think about everything that happened for her to end up here, but the memories seems blurred.

She remembers talking excitedly with her friend on the phone, and she remembers leaving the supermarket’s parking lot, after that, the only thing she can remember, and if she tries hard enough, she can still feel, is her heart accelerating and her legs who won’t obey. It’s still painful, so the girl tries to shrug the thought.

Before she can think too much, her mom wakes up and rub her eyes sleepily.

Camila turns to look at her and tries to bring a small smile to her face, but it only comes out as a flash of a smile, something quick and weak.

Her mom walks in her direction and although the feeling is that she wants to hold her little girl in her arms and never let her go anywhere anymore, to pin Camila beside her wing and let the girl live there forever, all she does is bring her lips to the girl’s forehead and linger them there for a while.

“Good morning”, Camila said with her still weak voice cracking.

“Good morning my little bird”, Sinu replied then wiped the tears that fell from her eyes.

“Let me call the doctor” the woman took the white phone and pressed a button, then talked to someone.

“What time is it, mom?”

“It’s seven thirty” the woman replied, and caressed her daughter’s forehead avoiding the bruises.

Camila kept asking about things like what day was it, and how many time she had kept unconscious. The woman answered all the girl’s questions between kisses, and sometimes holding her tears from falling.

She told the girl that she had woken up yesterday, but the girl didn’t remember that, which worried her mother a little bit.

A lapse of memory after having such a serious concussion as Camila had might be normal, but still the woman worried, she couldn’t help.

Sinu kept updating Camila about everything that had happened while she was not awake.

“-so Normani and Ally are carrying their lazy asses here, everyday-“ Camila was cut by the arriving of the doctor.

“Good morning”, the man walked in the room with a pad and some kind of tray with medicines upon it.

“Good morning, doctor” Sinu answered, not bothering to walk away from Camila.

Camila also answered a small ‘good morning’, but it came out too low.

“How are you feeling, Karla?” the doctor asked while checking the girl’s heart machine and her IV.
