Song Preference from the song 'Love Again' by New Hope Club 😊

**

It's been a year, two weeks, one day, I
Knew the minute that I saw your face that,
Only thing that never changed was you.
Your perfume's intoxicating,
You still smile when you say my name and
I love the way that you dance across the room

Sonny - His POV

"You alright?" I looked over at Andy, who had a concerned look resting on his face.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I smiled reassuringly before glancing up at the pub in front of us. It was the pub where I first met her those few years ago. It was also the pub we were in on the last night I saw her.

He nodded with a concerned smile before we followed the other boys into the crowded room.

I couldn't stop the way my eyes drifted across the room every time we came here. I was always subconsciously searching for her, but I never found her.

As sad as it was, I couldn't help but count the number of months, weeks, days even, that it had been since she left.

A year, two weeks, one day.

"What do you want to drink?" I looked over at Rye, who had a grin on his face and a drink in hand.

I opened my mouth to respond, when a familiar figure caught my eye.

It's not.
It can't be.

But it was.
She was here.

"Sonny?" Rye frowned, but my attention remained fixed on her, trying to figure out whether my mind was playing tricks on me.

"Mate?" Brook tilted his head, but before he could speak I had brushed past them both, heading straight for her. I'd let her go once, I couldn't make the same mistake again.

I slowed down as I neared her, only having the view of the back of her head, but her friend, Y/F/N, quickly froze at the sight of me.

Y/N moved aside slightly, just enough for me to see the side of her face. I froze in my steps, watching her push the hair away from her face.

"Y/N, do you remember the boy you met here?" Y/F/N asked quietly, her eyes flickering between her in wonder.

"Sonny." My heart melted at the sound of her saying my name, a small, yet saddened smile appearing on her face.

"Well..." Y/F/N began, cutting herself off. Y/N looked at her with confusion before slowly turning her head.

"Sonny?" Her voice appeared quieter than it used to be, but it was still her voice, and that was enough to make me smile.

"Y/N/N." I greeted her while trying to hide the happiness I felt at that moment.

"I'll give you guys some space." Y/F/N stepped back, earning a grateful smile from both of us.

"It's been a while. How've you been?" I choked out, struggling to find the right words to say, but I relaxed slightly at the way she smiled at me.

"I see you're still as awkward." She commented, causing me to chuckle with a grin and a nod.

"Do you want a drink?" I offered and she shook her head with a small smile, gesturing to her glass beside her.

We fell into silence, neither of us knowing what to say, but knowing that it couldn't be goodbye. Not again.

"I missed you." I let out a breath of relief as the weight lifted from my shoulders after finally saying it. Her head shot up, her gaze softening as her eyes searched my own.
