YOU WERE HUMMING TO a song that had been stuck in your head all week while you made yourself dinner. You had gotten home from work just a few hours ago and since you were too tired to go out with friends, you decided to have a night in, just enjoying yourself and relaxing. The smell of tomato sauce filled your lungs as you decided to go for a simple spaghetti. Your calm thoughts were suddenly interrupted when you heard someone obnoxiously knocking on your door. With your eyebrows furrowed, since you weren't expecting anyone this late, you walked towards the front hallway. Looking through the magic eye, your frown only deepened once you saw your neighbour in just underwear, a distressed look on his face.

"Oh my God, what happened to you?" You instantly asked once you opened your door, the man covering himself with his naked arms. "Did you got robbed?"

"No, no, nothing of the sort!" He said with a nervous laughter. "You see, I was-I was doing my laundry and I accidentally locked myself out of my apartment." The expression on his face turned into embarrassment while his cheeks turned deep pink.

"You what?" You tried your best not to laugh at the man's misfortune but you couldn't wrap your head around why he was just in his underwear.

"I know, it sounds ridiculous." He huffed, a ran rushing through his wild curls. "I had a bit of an accident and had to throw my clothes in the washing machine too." This time you couldn't hold back your laughter, making the man nod and give you a bored look. "You done?"

"I'm sorry, that does sound ridiculous." You wiped the tears that brimmed into your eyes but stopped when you saw the man shiver. "Shit, you must be freezing."

He nodded with a clatter of his teeth and you ushered him inside. He sighed for a brief moment, enjoying the warmth your apartment had provided him. "Thank you so much." He told you and you smiled at him, the both of you forgetting he was just wearing grey boxer briefs. Until the both of you remembered and your cheeks flushed red.

"Let me grab you something to wear." You said quickly, already dashing towards your bedroom.

You grabbed a white fluffy robe that was big on you and since the man wasn't exactly much taller, you thought it would be perfect for him. At least so that he would stop shivering his ass off in your living room. After he was fully covered, you went back towards your kitchen, turning off your stove once the sauce was done.

"I'm Josh, by the way." He introduced himself. You had seen the man around the building before, since he lived right next door, but you both had only exchanged polite smiles and good morning's.

You smiled as you mixed the sauce with the spaghetti. "I'm Y/N."

"I'll, uh, I'll get out of your hair in a bit, okay? I'm just waiting for Tony to answer me." Josh explained, shifting his height awkwardly. You nodded, but you knew it usually took Tony, the janitor, quite sometime to get things done since he was the laziest man on earth.

"You can stay for dinner, if you want." You offered, making Josh instantly shake his head in disagreement. That earned him a roll of your eyes. "I made too much, anyway. You're welcome to stay."

"That's too kind, but I can't ask-"

"You didn't ask. I offered." You cut him off, already placing two plates on the table, along with the pot of spaghetti. "Now sit down and eat."

After a little hesitation, Josh realized you weren't giving in anytime soon and since his stomach was already grumbling, he decided to just do as told. He praised the meal the whole time and called you his savior. You, even without really knowing him, started to tease him for the complete stupid situation he had put himself in. Dinner had gone much better than you'd imagined, with laughter and conversation, almost like you both had known each other for years other than just an hour.

When you were both done, Josh insisted that he did the dishes for you, as a form of thank you.

"You're as stubborn as me. And I hate that." You complained, leaned against the sink whilst Josh washed the last plates. He laughed warmly, but before he could reply with a snarky comment, a light knock was heard from your door.

Knowing it was probably the janitor, you pulled the door open to be met by Tony with a bored look on his face. "Where's that goddamn boy?" He asked with an annoyed tone, making you snicker. Josh popped his head in the hallway, his face lighting up once he saw the man standing there.

"Tony, my ma-" Before he could finish his greeting, Tony cut him off with a roll of his eyes.

"Ya door's open." He announced, his chubby finger pointing at Josh right after. "That's the third time in two months, boy. You better get your head out of your ass and stop being dumb!" After the man was finished, he simply walked off, descending the stairs as he mumbled something to himself.

You turned to Josh, your shocked expressions turning with laughter in a second. "Third time in two fucking months?"

"I'm forgetful, alright!" Josh defended himself, walking towards the door.

"You're dumb, that's what." You said in between laughter, earning a glare towards you.

"Anyway, thank you for taking in my dumb ass and feeding me." Josh said once he was out in the corridor, but you just waved your hand nonchalantly. "No, really, it was so kind of you."

"Eh, it's no big deal." You shrugged your shoulders.

"How about I make you dinner sometime?" He offered with a smile.

"Only if you're dressed next time." You teased, making him laugh loudly.

"No promises." Josh wiggled his eyebrows, making his way across the hall and towards his now open apartment.

"You better give me back my robe, Josh!" You said before he could close the door, but he only grinned deviously, giving you a wink before he completely shut his door. You shook your head, what a dumbass neighbour you had.
