YOU DUSTED YOUR HANDS on your apron as you went back to the cashier to greet the costumer that had just stopped there. The small coffee shop you worked was rather full today, which was unusual since it was calm most days. The rain was pouring outside as the costumers tried to warm themselves up with a hot drink.

The doorbell rang again as you finished the order of a costumer, handing it out to him. You didn't pay much attention as you went to greet the next one, but when you turned around, you noticed the cute boy who'd stop by sometimes. He was next in line and your co-worker was about to ring him up when he allowed an older lady to go in front of him.

You smiled at the gesture, not only because of how sweet that was but because it also gave you time to finish the costumer's order and tend to him.

"Welcome to Dahlia's Café, what can I get you today?" You said, smiling at him. He smiled back.

"I have a confession to make."

"Uhm?"

"I hate coffee."

"What?!" You asked in disbelief, laughing. "Then why are you always here?" Sam gave you an obvious look, making your laugh cease altogether. "Oh."

"Yeah. Oh." Sam laughed, his cheeks now tainted a light shade of pink.

"Hm... That's very flattering, but..." You started and you wanted to immediately laugh at the shocked look on his face. "You know we have other stuff you could've ordered, right?"

Sam wanted to face palm himself when you started to laugh. His cheeks were now burning red, feeling as though he made a complete fool out of himself to you. Maybe you thought he was dumb. God, you probably did.

"Oh, your face is just priceless." You wiped a fake tear out of your eyes but stopped laughing when you saw how red he was. "Oh, I'm sorry–"

"No, it's alright." He tried to dismiss it, but he still felt embarrassed. "I guess I was always too damn nervous to even look at the menu."

"Well, I think that's cute." You blurted, making his puppy eyes lit up in a second. Maybe you didn't think he was stupid after all and that boosted up his confidence once again.

"Well, cute enough to win your phone number?" Sam smirked, making you roll your eyes but giggle.

"I mean, you did drink an enormous amount of coffee for me. That's the least I could do." You smirked back, grabbing a pen and writing your number down on a napkin. "Here you go, coffee boy."

"Oh, thank God I won't have to drink more coffee." He sighed in relief as he took the napkin making you laugh loudly.

"Gimme a call sometime." You smiled and winked, turning around to ring up another costumer before your boss gave you shit for not working.

Sam watched from the door as you greeted the costumer, smiling down to himself when he eyed your number written on the napkin with a small heart drawn on top of it, your smell of coffee still lingering behind. That smell never made him happier.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: I'm cleaning out my drafts and found this ready to go. It's a bit silly and short but cute nevertheless. I'll probably be ending this book soon as well since I don't really write for the band anymore, but I wanted to thank everyone who's read it so far. x
