"ARE YOU READY, sweetheart?" I heard my mom's voice from downstairs. My date was already there too.
I took a deep sigh, straightening my dress as I took one last look in the mirror. I made my way downstairs, prepared to be embarrassed by my mom taking a hundred of pictures. Once she was done, Tyler and I made our way to his car. I watched as his tall built frame opened the car door to me. He flashed me a bright smile and threw me a wink once I sat down, closing the door after. Tyler was a sweet guy and he was extremely handsome, but because of his popularity, he was kind of a douche. Yes, I know, what a cliche. Going to a school dance with a douchey football player? But you can't blame me, he was a cutie.
"You look very beautiful." He broke the silence after a few minutes of driving. I smiled at him.
"Thank you. You look good too." I complimented, his eyes darting quickly from the road to me as a smile crept onto his lips.
The drive was quick and quiet, the only sound was the soft music playing through the car. Not that I minded, we didn't really had much in common to talk about anyway. Tyler opened the door for me again once we arrived, like the gentleman he was playing tonight, and we made our way towards the school. All of the very known faces also making their way towards the entrance, everyone dressed up and looking very good.
We walked in the gym where the dance was supposed to happen and it all looked so beautiful. Lilac decorations, fairy string lights, tables full of all kinds of drinks and foods and a cool dance floor. The committee really made an outstanding job. I smiled as we reached the food table, drinking some punch.
"Dance with me, beautiful." Tyler reached his hand out for me and I took it, a silly smile on my face. He placed a kiss on my hand and pulled me against him.
We danced for a while, his hands on my lower back holding me tightly against him as mine laid on his broad shoulders. For a moment it felt good, I felt good. But that was interrupted when his football friends came towards us. They engulfed him and I started to feel anxious, so I squeezed myself away from them. I chuckled a little as I watched the mess they were making in the middle of the dance floor and the dirty looks they were receiving from everyone else.
I made my way towards some of my own friends by the bleachers. We talked, we danced, we had fun. And for a moment I even forgot about Tyler.
"Y/N, aren't you supposed to be with that football hottie?" My best friend asked me, realization hitting me that I haven't seen him in almost half an hour.
"Shit, you're right!" I mentally slapped myself for being a jerk to him. I heard her laugh as I went to search for the blonde haired boy.
I walked around the dance floor, making my way through lots of dancing people. I soon heard his friends' mess and followed the noise. And oh, how I fucking regret doing that. I stood still as I watched Tyler kiss the hell out of a girl, his friends around him cheering loudly. I rolled my eyes, of course this would happen to me. I turned around and made way towards the exit.
I angrily pushed the doors open, walking out and feeling the wind against my skin as I embraced myself, shivering a little. I looked around for a while, not a single soul in sight. Until I heard someone's voice.
"You look lost, Cinderella." I turned around to see a tall lanky boy with long brown hair leaned against the wall. He was wearing a formal navy blue suit with a similar colored shirt underneath, except it had white details. I couldn't see much of his face, but he seemed to be cute. I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Seems like you're lost too, Rapunzel." I retorted, my answer making him laugh. "You don't go here."
"No, I'm from Frankenmuth High."
