I had powdered my eye bruise. I had put on a lot of make up so he couldn't see.

We were walking down the street. The floors had massive puddles as it was raining.

"So sweetheart, what are you doing tomorrow?"

"Uh.... Nothing?"

He looked suspiciously over at me.

"Hmmm. Okay?  You know you never seem to visit Lux."

I rolled my eyes. "Why'd I ever go back there again? It's just drunk women and men kissing."

He smiled. "That's the point."

Suddenly, a car came rushing passed and splashed us because there was a massive puddle on the road.

My make up....

I quickly covered my face.

"Detective? Are you okay?"

"Uh.... Mhm... Can *deep breath* can we just go quickly?"

"Why are you covering your face?"

"It's nothing! Let's just go!"

He removed my hand.

"What?! What happened?!"

"I.... I fell. I didn't want you to be worried."

He had hold of my wrist. He held it there in the air silently for a second, staring at my black eye.

"Those....those are knuckle marks!"

"I...fell on someone's knuckle?"

I wasn't even falling the rock next to us.

"Tell me who." His voice was scaring me.

I looked away hiding tears.

"S-someone from my high school.... S-she saw me in a b-bar and took me outside then b-beat me up..."

His anger was incomparable.

"What is their name?" His voice and face was still scaring me. Seriously.

"B-Britanny..." He let go of my wrist and walked away.

I didn't tell him about tomorrow.
