~Will show slight references from the ending to the 1961 classic "West Side Story"~
We stand to our feet, holding each other in a loving embrace that was now long overdue. Never have I felt so loved in all my life, never have I felt so safe,so secure.
"Arthur,I tried so hard to do what's right..." I whisper,"but now...I'm not sure if doing the right thing...well...is the right thing".
"My love~" he assures me,"you thought what was best,I'm just glad your here...with me".
We take slow steady steps down the empty streets of Gotham, gazing up at the stars while discussing our bright future together.
"We should go to the mountains" I recommend," where there's snow...and wildlife".
"How about the woods?" He adds
"We're gonna need a big house..." I mumble,
"Why's that my dear?" He questions, gazing down at me with a cheerful smile.
"For..." I pause for a minute,"for the children"
He seems stunned, his eyes growing wide with surprise."y-you want children?" He stutters,
"I thought you weren't ready"."Well not right now~" I laugh,"I mean,well... once we've settled in".
He smiles,gently kissing my hand,"I would love to be a father~" he gasps,"but what if I f-fail~".
"Don't say that" I quickly interrupt him,"you would be the most loving father I know, believe me you would do great".
"You mean it~?" He questions, looking down at me with those innocent, hopeful eyes that I knew and loved from the beginning.
Arthur...
He's back...
~He's finally come back to me~
"I've never meant anything more in my entire life" I tell him, going on the tips of my toes and gently kissing his cheek.
"I'm glad your back Arthur~" I smile, holding out my hand.
"I am too" he says, gently taking hold of my hand. We continue walking, now silent and just taking in all of today's events.
Suddenly,I hear a familiar light ringing coming from behind us. I tilt my head in confusion,Arthur must've head it too, because the both of us turned out head to see what it was.
My heart stopped...
Police sirens
Their red and blue lights flashed down the road, speeding towards us.
"We have to run!" I tell him,"let's go hurry!"
We bolt down the sidewalk, never loosing our grip on each other's hand. We turn take a turn towards an alleyway, then take a shortcut towards the local park.
