Chapter 11- I Won't Let You Surrender, I'll Be Your Strength.

One month later...

My POV-

It had been a month since we came home from Fuerteventura, I had a great time, despite the fact I found out that I was pregnant. Tonight, we are having a little gathering at the flat to celebrate their engagement. I am so happy for them, they are so cute together. But first, me and Nathan are going to the hospital for the six week scan. I am so nervous, I've taken the day off work, I told Katie that I was pregnant, a couple of weeks after we came back. Our appointment was at 11:30am, and it was now 10am. I was in the kitchen making some tea for me, Nath and Jade, Nathan was in the shower. 

'How are you feeling?' Jade asked as she took a bite from her slice of toast.

'Nervous...but happy at the same time,' I replied as I carried her tea over to her.

'What are you nervous about?' she questioned as she blew onto her hot tea.

'If they find out something's wrong with the baby,' I answered as I looked down at the breakfast table.

'Everything's going to be fine,' Jade said with a smile on her face. Just as she finished speaking, Nathan wondered into the kitchen. He came up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist and he kissed me on the cheek. I just stayed there in his arms for about 2 minutes...but was ruined as I had to run to the bathroom. Morning sickness is probably the worst thing that I have experienced whilst being pregnant. I emerged from the bathroom, after splashing my face with some cold water and cleaning my teeth.

I got myself changed and we were both ready to go, Jade walked to the front door with me and gave me a hug and whispered,

'Good luck,'. Me and Nathan then left to go to the hospital.

Nathan's POV-

We arrived at the hospital and we made our way to the waiting room. I looked down at my watch and it was 11:25am, almost time for the scan. Ams was holding my hand so tightly, she hasn't let go of it for a while. I'm excited and nervous at the same time, maybe after seeing an image on the screen will make it sink in some more. I kept looking at the clock on the wall, which was ticking closer to half past, it felt like we were waiting for a long time. At last, we were called into the room. We got up from our seats and we followed her into the room. We sat down on the seats provided and the lady began to speak,

'Hello, I'm Becky, and I'm going to be your midwife throughout your pregnancy so if you have any questions, I'm willing to answer them,' she introduced herself.

'Thank you,' Amy smiled.

'How's everything been?' Becky asked.

'Seems to be going well, just the morning sickness I don't like,' Amy replied.

'Ahh, that's something I hear a lot ha, but it's all worth it in the end. Shall we begin the scan?' she answered with a smile.

'Yeah sure,' Ams said. Amy then followed Becky over to the bed, and she laid down on it.

'The jel is going to be cold,' Becky warned before she began the scan. I was stood by Amy's side and I held her hand, and we were both watching the screen. About 3 minutes later, a little blob looking thing appeared on the screen.

'That little image is your baby,' Becky said as she pointed at the screen. A big grin then appeared on my face, soon that blob will be in our arms as a baby...wow.

'Everything is good,' Becky said as she finished the scan.

'Thank you,' I said as Ams got herself sorted.

'Just ring this number if you anything happens or if you have something to ask, O.K?' Becky said as she passed a little bit of paper to me along with the scan. Me and Ams then left the room and made our way out of the hospital.
