Chapter 14- I Won't Let You Surrender, I'll Be Your Strength...!

Nathan's POV-

I opened the door to Amy's room and I found her struggling to move herself to sit up...she was awake. I rushed over to her side, she was battered and bruised and she had a cast on her broken arm and leg. I didn't like seeing her like this.

'Hey baby,' I said to her as I got to her. She coughed to clear her throat and answered,

'Hey...' she then looked like she was about to cry. I sat down beside her on her bed, and I held her as close as I could to me.

'I can't even trust you to cross the bloody road can I?' I joked trying to make her feel better. She laughed slightly, but then winced as if she was in pain. 

'You know I'm gonna kill the bastard, but I'm going to make sure that my two babies get better before I do anything...do you want some water?' I continued. She smiled and nodded her head. I reached over to the jug of water and the glass that was on the bedside table and I poured her a drink. She took it from my hand and took a small sip. The doctor then came into the room,

'Ah good to see you awake Miss Juliff. You're bound to feel some pain and will find it difficult to move about as you have to adjust to your broken bones but I'll get a nurse to increase your painkiller dose and help you with the crutches and we will give you a wheel chair to help you out of the hospital,' Dr Samuels explained.

'When will she be allowed to go home?' I asked.

'Depends on how well the next 24 hours go, maybe tomorrow if you're good,' he answered.

'Thank you Doctor, Ams croaked. Dr Samuels then left the room.

Sarah, Mike and Charly then appeared at the door,

'Do you want to be alone with them?' I asked Ams. She shook her head slightly.

'No...please stay with me Nath,' she begged.

'I'm not going anywhere unless you ask me too, ' I replied as I squeezed her hand fently. Sarah then bombarded Amy with loads of kisses and hugs.

'I was so worried about you sweetie,' she said as she finally sat down on the seats provided.

'We're going to be fine,' Amy smiled as she put her hands on top of her stomach and looked at me, I just smiled back at her.

'I know Nath will look after you Darling,' Mike responded. 

'You need some rest Sweetheart, try and sleep. We'll book ourselves into a hotel for the night...O.K?' Sarah said.

'Thank you for coming all this way to see me,' Amy thanked.

'We weren't going to stay at home were we,' Mike said as he leant down to kiss Ams on the head.

'Take good care of her Mr Sykes...Let us know if anything changes,' he finished saying before walking out of the room.

The others then came in to say hello but they didn't stay long. Not too long after, me and Ams were alone. I kept telling her to try and sleep but she wasn't listening. I sat down on the chair beside her bed, and I held her hand.

'You know....I was so scared that I was going to lose you baby,' I said as I looked into her eyes.

'Ha, you can't get rid of me that easily,' she laughed.

'I saw all happen, right before my eyes...I should of come with you to the cash point,' I replied.

'No Nath, don't you dare start blaming yourself,' she said with a bit of anger in her voice.

'My job is to protect you and our baby...and I'm doing fucking amazing at it, aren't I?' I responded sarcastically.

'Yes...you are. I love you Nathan,' she said to me.
