He's Hot, What Can I Say?

I begged myself to go back to sleep, but I felt myself becoming more aware of the world. I heard Diego's voice faintly. He sounded angry. And then another, vaguely familiar, voice responded. I allowed my eyes to flutter open as I turned on my side to take in my surroundings.

I was in Diego's bed and the man himself stood in the middle of the room arguing with Eudora Patch.

"Police reports and paperwork aren't going to do shit," Diego hissed as he pointed a finger in her face, "You need to realize that what I'm doing is the best way to catch these assholes."

"We already have the man in custody. We just need her to come in and pick the guy out of a line up," Eudora explained as she pushed his hand out of her face.

"The only reason you have him in custody is because I caught him."

"Yeah and you nearly killed him," she bit back.

"So what?" Diego asked coldly and I winced. I hated when his judgement was blinded by his anger.

"So he wouldn't have been brought to justice."

"You call what you do justice? How many guilty people have walked free because of your version of justice?"

"At least I don't prance around in a ridiculous costume—"

"You know I think the costume is actually kinda cool. It's better than the Umbrella Academy one," I imputed, causing Patch and Diego to turn to me.

"Vick, you're awake," Diego's voice changed tone significantly as he came and kneeled next to me. I looked over at him and slowly reached my hand out. I let it hover in front of his face for a moment. Then, I poked his nose.

"Boop."

"Vick-" Patch started crossing toward me.

"Woah! Stop it right there bud! My name is Victoria. Not Vick. Not Tori. Not Ia. Victoria," I babbled, my words blending together. Something was definitely wrong with me. "Am I on drugs?"

"Grace was able to give you some pretty heavy painkillers for your leg," Diego explained as he gently rubbed my arm. I looked down at his hand and watched the movement. He stopped.

"Well, Victoria, I need you to come down to the police station whenever you're feeling up to it so we can ID the man that attacked you," Patch said, her tone sweet.

"Kk," I shouted too loudly. I ignored Diego's smirk. "Thank you for all your help Lady Patch! I shall see you when I see you now please vacate the premises because I find social interaction exhausting and honestly I just want to eat spaghetti."

Eudora smirked too, looking at Diego. I wasn't sure what the two of them found so amusing, but before I even had time to try and figure it out, she gave a quick nod of the head and left.
