Night had come and everything was quit at sea After dinner  captain Montgomery paced back and forth on the deck not saying anything. His peg leg making a sound whenever he moved. Arnold stood there watching not understanding why the captain was doing what he was. It was then that papu came out of the shadows oh it's only you the boy began''. Captain  Montgomery is a mysterious man none of us know that much about him Papu said'' frowning''. why he does that asked? Arnold? I couldn't say for sure it has something to do with his past I believe Papu added''. He must be a very interesting person the boy began'' what do you mean papu asked? Think about it captain Montgomery is a man of the seas and must have tons of exciting stories to tell the boy answered''. I know how it feels I grew up alone in the jungles if India alone trying to survive against the wild animals papu began''. Just then the sea become very choppy and they got caught in the middle of a storm . All of the sudden a giant tentacle flew in the air hitting the ship. Sea monster off the starboard side shouted' someone''.go to you're quarters now papu ordered''.No I want to help Arnold told him''very well but be warned  this will be dangerous papu replied''. The boy and papu joined the rest of the crew in the fight against the sea monster which turned out to be the kraken. This was  in indication that they there  somewhere off the cost of Scandinavia.With its Tentacles flying all over the place it was hard to battle such a large creature but the crew of the conquistador continued to fight hard. The kraken then grabbed spade he was suspended in mid air help me someone he cried''. Go back to the depths of hell you evil sea demon shouted the captain''. I've faced lions and tigers that where tougher then this Papu said with a laugh''.So the battle raged  and so did the storm on for some time captain the monster won't give up Jin called for afar''. Then we won't ether keep fighting men don't let it defeat us captain Montgomery began''. Just then Papu had a harpooning spear in his hands I will end this he said throwing the Spear at the kraken killing it''. Spade fell into the water Papu dove in and saved it the rest of the crew help bring them back on the ship.There was blood in the water And  the storm had stopped what was that asked Arnold? The kraken it's a legendary sea monster rummy replied''. It is said to live in this part of the ocean rummy added''.That damm thing would have killed us if it hadn't been for Papu spade who was one of the many pirates aboard began''.. It was then that Jin pulled out an acoustic guitar I think some music may help he said'. Jin started to play and sing a song that they all knew accept Arnold the other pirates sang along including captain Montgomery. Because of their battle with the kraken the conquistador had been pushed southward and was now close to Africa. Arnold found a old journal in his quarters that the pages where blank. He started recording everything about their adventures in a journal Arnold dated the first page October 3nd The boy started writing about from the time they left Boston harbor to their encounter with the kraken. He was then interrupted by jack who was the captain's first mate. The pirate seemed interested in what the boy writing you doing he inquired?Just writing  about all of all of our adventures Arnold answered ''.good idea lad maybe one day people will read it jack began''. I 'already have a title in mind the adventures of captain Montgomery and the crew of the conquistador Arnold told him''. That's not a good name jack said''do you have any ideas the boy asked?As a matter of fact I do jack admitted''. Then let me hear one because it's getting late and I need to get some sleep Arnold told him''. how about adventures on the seven seas jack suggested''. I will use that instead the boy began''turning back to the front page and crossing out the old title he put the new one in its place. At that moment Arnold closed the journal and got up from the desk he yawned get some sleep now lad after all a kid like you needs it jack said''. The boy got into bed and fell fast asleep jack let himself out of the room quietly after letting himself out of the room jack went back up on deck. It was then that jack went back to helping the other pirates Captain Montgomery was at the wheel steering I have good news everyone we're are right on course he told them''. to them''. Captain may I speak freely for a moment Papu began'' sure you can my Indian friend the captain added''. I have been exploring the seas for a long time and therefore think it's wise to not rush to wherever it is we are going Papu said''. Throw him overboard captain Montgomery's parrot squawked''. No Polly that won't be necessary you see Mr.papu is a necessity to our crew we need him the captain replied''. If you say so the patriot squeaked''.

It's all has to do with the mystery of the dead mans hand answered captain Montgomery''. It is believed there is an mysterious island with a full of treasure and the answers we are looking for Papu began''.
Do you believe that Mr. Papu inquired the captain? Possibly yes the island is somewhere near Bermuda the only problem is that it's hidden Papu replied''. Then we shall travel there and find it no matter how long it takes captain Montgomery said''.
What if we die like all the others asked ace? Sometimes you have embrace danger and have a sense of adventure even if it means you're death Papu answered''. The rest on the crew had gone to bed sometime before midnight leaving captain Montgomery alone at the wheel. Now the conquistador was In between Greenland and Scandinavia The captain never slept he just stayed up all night steering the ship.It was quiet at sea again the only sound that could be heard was the ship moving though the water. Even if it took years Captain Montgomery and his crew where determined to solve the mystery.
