The car was encompassed an unfamiliar sense of melancholy as Nina drove towards Terminal 5 at London Heathrow Airport. Selassi carried a blank look on her face as they approached the drop-off point for passengers, the wind blew through the plethora of coils in Selassi's high puff hairstyle.

She kept casual in a fitted burgundy tracksuit , pairing the outfit with some simple trainers. Her eyes were brimmed redness as she hadn't slept that much the night before as she put her luggage onto the trolley whilst Nina watched with concern.

She knew that Selassi was struggling with the fact that her parents' funeral was drawing closer, she instantly hugged Selassi to stop her frustrated movements and she instantly melted into her embrace. The two lifelong friends stood there, sharing this intimate moment but it felt different from the previous times that they hugged. This horrible sense of uncertainty hung over them but neither of them wanted to address it.

"You have a safe trip, let me know when you land, bitch," Nina said jokingly as they let go of each other. That managed to get Selassi smiling, even chuckling a bit.

"Thanks for the lift, I will definitely let you know. Hoe." She said, mischievously. They hugged one last time and parted ways.

Selassi proceeded with the check-in process and as she boarded the plane, she felt slightly uneasy, making her way to her seat. Nearly tripping, she held onto on the seat headrest whilst clutching her mother's necklace, she let out a silent prayer to her mum for guidance. All of a sudden, her hand felt like it was burning as she held onto the pendant and silently screaming, she let go of the pendant.

As she finally sat down in the Premium Economy area of the plane, she releases her fist which revealed the carved snake etched into her palm. She trembled as she called out for one of the flight attendants for a first aid kit but by the time the flight attendant came back, the burnt mark had gone.

Feeling confused, she looked at her hand a couple of times and when she saw it had truly gone, she tried to relax but she couldn't. It didn't make sense that it would disappear just like that, she decided to distract her mind from it by eating the provided lunch and watching a movie.

At this time, a distressed woman sitting not too far from her began to panic. Selassi noticed how her fingernails dug into the very fabric of the chair, enough to make a dent.

Her desperate whimpers attracted the attention of the flight attendants as the plane shook slightly.

The whimpers gradually transitioned into full-blown wails as her arms flung around, dropping her food and hitting the attendants repeatedly.

Selassi could only witness the slow descent into madness, she shifted her head from side to side. In a blink of an eye, her blood filled eyes focused their attention on Selassi, making her jump a little. Selassi looked around to see anyone else noticed but it seemed like she was only one time witness this.

" Bitch! They can't see this, this is for your eyes only. Tick Tock, Tick  Tock, Tick Tock on the clock. Misery is coming, misery is looking for you, you silly little bitch and when it comes, you will pay dearly. Your parents say hi. " The possessed women said before screeching incoherent words that her body go cold as she covered her ears, rocking back and forth.

Tears fell like waterfalls on her face, sobbing quietly. The flight attendant came by, touching Selassi's shoulders and saw a carved Cheshire grin with black eyes staring into her soul.

" Lights out, bitch" She felt a dirty slap hit her face, making her passing out instantly.

A few hours passed and it was if she couldn't remember what had happened but she felt an agonising soreness of the left side of her face. Ignoring it, she made her way to the ladies and locking the cubicle door, she proceeded to do her business. She cleaned herself up and stood in front of the mirror, washing her hands and at this moment, the plane suffered unexpected turbulence.

The lights went off and suddenly started flashing which revealed the unmistakable smirk of the fetish priest behind her. She sensed that it was close to her and suddenly, its staff stamped against the floor causing more extreme turbulence.

She reached for the door, managing to unlock it and in a flash, the fetish priest was gone. Stumbling out, Selassi felt out as she witnessed distressed passengers being comforted by concerned flight attendants. The plane was still unstable as she made her way to her seat.

She sat down quickly, gripping the armrest as she quietly caught her breath.

The plane finally landed at Kotoka Airport safely and it was long before Selasie reached immigration line, approaching the male airport attendant and he looked over her passport, checking the details.

Something about his face seemed to make her nervous and for some reason, her vision was kinda blurry. His face suddenly distorted into a demonic smile which made her instantly freeze, tingles trickled down her spine as she sported a startled look.

" Hello, Madam, are you ok?" He asked with a large friendly smile, breaking what she saw.

"Yeah, I am. Thank you" she said, regaining her composure. She gave him a weak smile as she received her passport back.

"Welcome to Ghana, enjoy your stay." He replied.

Selasie carried onto the luggage section where she struggled to put her suitcases on the trolley and unbeknownst to her, another male attendant came beside her, helping to put the suitcase on the trolley properly.

After he finished, she saw he was still standing with a lazy grin on his face and looked around to see another traveller offering something to another attendant. Realising it was common practice, she slipped her hand into her bag and taking out a fiver, she handed out to the impatient attendant.

The humid air hit her cheeks as she exited the airport, looking around for her Auntie Diane. She felt nervous as people waltzed passed her towards their loved ones as they embraced each other rightly. She watched a young woman hug her parents and other members of her family, they were laughing and joking together as they made their way to the car park.

She looked away, not witnessing such a scene. She tried to keep her cool as she heard a familiar voice call out her name. Her head turned instantly as she saw the kind face of a person had been a pillar of support in her life.

As they drew near each other, they fell into an intimate embrace as they hugged tightly. Auntie Diane caressed Selassi's soft coils as she lay her head in the crook of her auntie's neck, feeling safe after such an uneasy flight.

"Welcome home, sweetheart" Auntie Diane whispered.

Selassi simply didn't respond, instead, she continued to hold her tightly as she thought that maybe her trip back home wouldn't be so bad after all.
