"No no no, I love being your personal door man." Richie rambled as I follow him, going around the others in circles. "Yeah, you guys couldn't of taken any longer." I mumbled as I stopped and sat my right cheek on my handle bars. I played with my watch on my wrist as Eddie's attention turned to me. I wasn't good at sitting still, or waiting for that matter. "Just shut up Richie!" Eddie was yelling before he looked in my direction. "You too." He said as a warning. I rolled my eyes as they fell into a conversation. "I saw something too." Bill informed us. "You saw blood?" Stan asked as Richie stopped, finding a spot between Bev and Eddie. "No I saw g-huh-guh-Georgie." Bill stuttered out. He didn't look at me, didn't have to to know that I gasped and covered my mouth with my hands. My mind flashing memories of me and little cousin. "And there was this-this," Bill started again. "A clown." Eddie interrupted. "Yeah I saw him too." I picked my head up. "Wait a clown?" I asked, actually confused. "Can only virgins see this? Is that why I'm not seeing this shit?" Richie asks. I rolled my eyes. "Beep fucking beep." I mumbled.
As the others ignored me mumbling cuss words and annoying comments, I thought I caught Richie looking at me from the corner of my eye. I went to tease him quietly until the whisper against the back of my skull was back. Fat. He's looking at your fat stomach. I didn't dare catch his eye after that crossed my mind. My mind ran over and over how that slipped into my mind. I haven't thought of myself as fat in a long time, and all of a sudden it was back. I was suddenly frustrated and angry. "Isn't that belch Huggins car?" "Yeah" "that's the home schooled kids bike too!" I didn't look, just pulled on the fabric of my shirt to keep it from clinging to my tummy. "Let's help him!" Bev says. I opened my mouth, wanting to stay back and not be bullied about my weight right now. I closed it immediately and watched her walk past me and into the reeds. "I don't feel like getting called a pig right now." I mumbled as I fell into line next to Ben, who looked at me understandingly. "Did he hit you with that one too?" I asked and rubbed my arms out of self consciousness. "I mostly get 'tits'." He said quietly. I rubbed my hand on his shoulder. "I'm sorry." I whispered as we caught up with the others. When we came to the bank of the river, Bev was throwing a rock and hitting Henry, who was torturing The home schooled kid, in the forehead. "Nice throw!" Stan compliments. Henry looked up with crazed eyes. Mike got to cross the river and Eddie helped him over. I took a step back and hip Richie. "Are you okay." He said quietly. "Yeah." I said back. "Don't think I don't see you two back there!" Henry yelled. "I always knew you'd rather be all over his dick than mine. Could never figure out why though." He said with a wicked laugh afterwards. A let out a puff of air. "Maybe it's because he's not a stupid scab eating asshole!" I said back with a red face. It went quite for a minute. Henry looked furious. "You dumb fat bitch! Oh look, you've got Beaver-ly here too!" She winced at the name, as I remember why I was scared of him in the first place, self asteem. "She'll do you, all you have to do is ask nicely. Just like I did." He grabs his crotch. "Ew" I whispered. Ben yells loudly, throwing a rock and hitting One of the teens. "God Ben, you got a fire in that little heart of your don't you." I said half jokingly, but getting ignored as usual. "ROCK WAR!" Richie yelled, immediately getting hit in the head. In the mass of thrown rocks and hurtful words, I mostly hang back. Eddie had gotten into the water at some point and mike had found himself throwing too.
As the "war" came to an end, everyone was leaving. I turned to walk off, needing a bandaid for my cut knee, when I heard Richie. "GO BLOW YOUR DAD YOU MULLET WEARING ASSHOLE!" I laughed at him and grabbed his wrist. "C'mon you four eyed nympho." He laughed a little as we walked towards the others. "Is it true?" He asked. "What?" "Do you really think I'm not a scab eating asshole?" I smiled. "Of course not." I let go of his hand and caught up to the others.

The next morning, I had gotten out of bed and was getting dressed to go to the 4th of July parade when mom insisted I go alone. She didn't want to go, didn't feel good. So I went alone. I pulled on a dress and filled the new bag mom got me in town. I changed my random junk to the new backpack before slipping on my shoes. I walked into town today, not really needing my bike. I fixed my hair into a braid on the walk while humming. As I made it to the alley we decided to meet at I walked past where Richie was fighting with a guy playing a baritone. "Aww poor dumb Richard. He can't even find a convenient instrument to steal." I tisked and shook my head. He honked out weird notes and off key squawks. "Top of the morning to you lads and the wee lass! Any int-at-esting things happ'n." Stan rolled his eyes. Mine and Richie's weird voices being a way for the both of us to piss off stan. As Richie's improved, mine...well let's say mine aren't as good. "Oh my god." Bev giggled out at my over exaggerated voice. "Ey? You gat a pra-lem there lass?" I said with a fake angry expression. As she busted into actual laughter, I smiled. "See stan. They aren't all terrible." I smiled. "Yes they are, that's a pitty laugh." He responded. "Stan let me feel good about myself for 2 seconds please!" I said to him and fixed my glasses. He just smiled and rolled his eyes. "Now what's cracking mother fuckers, if we aren't doing anything important we should go get ice cream." I said as my attention moved back to bill. He still looked pissed at me. "W-wuh-we are talking about that clown." He informed. Richie came back to stand next to me, eddie walking up next to him. "Hi Blondie." Richie said as he thanked Eddie and brought the ice cream eddie got him to his mouth. "Ooh! Ed's where'd you get that? I want one." I asked and Eddie pointed at the small cart down the street. I went to walk over to the cart when richie yanked my arm back and pushed the ice cream towards my mouth. "Share with me." He smiled and I smiled back. "Okay." I said and took the ice cream, licking it as the others talked about everything. They eventually decided to move to the park in town. I happily followed, giving Richie his ice cream back. "So what shit are we getting into today." I said to him and he shrugged. "They're discussing that clown." He said. "When are they not." I said and rubbed my arms. "It's kinda scary." I said and fixed my glasses. He took my hand and held it. "Don't be scared, I've got you."
