April - I

12 years ago, a Martian, as you would call it, was born. Martian makes you think, 'Oh, a three-legged alien that lives on the planet Mars! This book is going to be all sciencey now. May as well not read it.' But no, don't walk away from whatever screen you're on. Stay and read. This is a serious story, a story that all humanity needs to be told.

You see, they never understood us. 'They', by the way, really means you. Many said that they've seen a UFO, but we don't fly spaceships or UFOs or whatnot. We're normal Martians or people, whatever you want. We're pretty much just like you, but some of our attributes are different. Sure, we also breathe air, but there is more gravity on our planet, making it harder for you to breathe here, but this is natural to us. Anymore more gravity and we'd die, but less gravity doesn't bother us, so you're planet doesn't affect me.

This is why 12 years ago, a little baby Martian that was born smaller than average was laid gently in a basket. This Martian was then laid in front of an orphanage on a planet one dimension away from yours. She never knew her parents or her real name, but to this day is known as April. No middle name, no last name. Just April, for this was the month she was found in front of the orphanage.

The orphanage took her in with open arms, and was careful with her, since she was only a young Martian who knew nothing of the evil world out there. As she grew older, she slowly learnt more, and by the age of 10, she learnt all the evils of the universe. This meant the evils of each dimension, which is extremely hard to keep up on. But April was able to keep them on her mind, and this kept her safe for the next couple of years.

As you know, it only says the next couple of years, which means two. The next two years were her most careful. And she was rewarded with the secure knowledge that she wouldn't die like the others for not being careful. But those two years went by fast, and she soon got tired of living in safety. The most fun activities always have the most fatal endings if not done properly. April knew this, and that's why she did the most risky thing a Martian could ever do.

Go to the most evil dimension. The dimension where only one planet held life. Life that was dying out,

Quickly.
