Chapter 1

Rhianna's POV
It was lunch time at school. I always sat with my best friends Kira and Erik. I saw them sitting there waiting on me. They were serving chicken nuggets and tater tots. My favorite! I went through the line and got my food. I was carrying my food over to the table to sit down and eat with my friends. "Watch out Rhianna!" I heard them both scream. I had been thinking about Shawn Mendes' new music video and how sexy he looked in it and forgot to watch where I was going. All of a sudden, I ran into Hailey and  spilled my food all over her. She was a bully to me and my friends but hated me most of all.
"YOU RUINED MY NEW SHIRT YOU WEIRDO!! I HATE YOU SO MUCH! WHY ARE WEIRDOS LIKE YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS ALOWED TO COME TO SCHOOL HERE! I CANT BELIEVE I HAVE TO BREATHE THE SAME AIR AS YOU!!! AAARRGH!" Hailey screamed at me. "I'm really sorry Hailey I didn't mean to run into you." I said. she slapped me and walked away. I started crying and walked over to my friends. Maybe I am just a weirdo I thought.
Are you ok? They both asked.
"Yes I'm fine." I said lying.
I didn't want them to know the pain I felt or what was going on inside my mind.
"Please don't cry I hate to see you cry." Erik said.
" I can tell you're not ok." Kira said.
"Yeah I just feel like I'm a weirdo and that no one likes me." I said.
"That's not true! Me and Erik like you! You're a great friend to us. You've always been there for us no matter what." Kira said.
"It's true! And the best people in life are a little weird! Don't listen to what that poopie head Hailey has to say!" Erik said.
"Thanks guys. Y'all always know just what to say to me." I said.
They hugged me and I stopped crying. Their advice really helped me.
"Now that you're all cheered up we wanted to ask you something." Kira said.
"Go ahead I'm listening." I said.
"Let me ask her Kira."
"Fine ask her Erik."
"Well Kira and I were thinking since you love to sing that you should audition for the school talent show. We've heard you sing before and you're really good." Erik said.
"I would love too but I have anxiety and stage fright. You guys know that. And what if no one likes my voice. Or what if they throw rotten tomatoes at me? Or what if..."
"Rhi don't worry about what others think! You're a great singer!" Erik interupted.
"Yeah you know he's right Rhi. You should stop worrying what everyone else thinks and do what you love. And after all this might help you boost your confidence." Kira said.
"Yeah its a dream I've had for a long time. Maybe I'll do it." I said.
The bell rang for us to go back to class.
*Later that evening*
Rhianna's POV
I was in my room after a long day of school watching Shawn Mendes videos on YouTube. I was thinking about what my friends had said. Maybe I should really do it I thought. I then put on the innoventions music loop from Epcot. It's the music I often liked to relax to. I went downstairs to the fridge to get a pickle to snack on. While doing this I started dancing to the music without realizing it. The doorbell rang but I must've not have heard it because I heard my friends outside giggling. I felt embarrassed.
"Come on in. Sorry you guys had to see that." I said feeling really embarrassed.
"It's ok Rhi we are just glad you're happy." Kira said.
"We're here to see if you decided to do the talent show!" Erik said.
"I think I'm actually gonna do it." I exclaimed.
"Yay. I'm so glad you're gonna do it Rhi!" Erik said.
"Auditions are tomorrow. Do you know what song you are gonna sing?" Kira asked.
"I'm thinking in my blood by Shawn Mendes because it's about overcoming anxiety which is what I'm gonna have to do to be able to do this." I said.
"Good choice" Kira said.
"You're gonna do amazing Rhi. You're gonna kick anxiety's ass.! Erik exclaimed.
I laughed and replied "I'm definitely gonna try."
"Do you guys wanna stay and hear me practice so I can get over my stage fright?" I asked.
"We would love to." Kira said.
"Thanks guys. It means a lot to me." I said.
Erik started gathering up all my figments and placing them in the floor in front of me.
"What are you doing?" I asked him.
"Well I thought you might need a bigger audience to help you overcome your stage fright. And since you love Figment I figured you wouldn't say no to him." Erik said.
Me and Kira both laughed.
"Great idea. And you're right I'd never say no to figment." I said.
"There's one more important audience member. Oh yes Shawn Mendes." Kira said as she moved my life size standee of Shawn Mendes to the audience area.
"Yes it's not a concert without Shawn." I said.
I turned on the music and began to sing my song. I never knew I owned so many figments I thought. I continued with my song as my friends were watching me smiling and cheering me on. When I finished with my song my friends cheered and clapped for me.
"That was great Rhi" Kira said.
"That was better than anything I've ever imagined." Erik said while doing a figment impression and holding one of my many figments.
Me and Kira both laughed.
"Thanks for staying you guys and encouraging me. I love you guys so much."
"You're welcome we love you too" they both said.
They left and went home. I put all my Figments away and practiced my song some more. Then I got a shower and went to bed. I needed sleep for my long day tomorrow. I was finally gonna live my dream!
