Chapter 5

Rhianna's POV
I woke up early for my audition. My audition was at 10:30. It was 8:00 now. I got dressed and went downstairs and made myself some breakfast. Erik and Kira were going to pick me up and take me to my audition. I heard a know at the door. It was my friends.
"Ready for your audition Rhi?" Erik asked.
" I guess so." I said.
"Do you guys want anything to eat?" I asked them.
"I'll take some tater tots and Mountain Dew." Erik said.
"I'll have a Poptart." Kira said.
"Ok I'll have it ready in a jiffy." I said.
I fixed them some breakfast. We ate and talked for awhile.
"I posted our video from the arcade last night." Erik said.
"Oh can I see." I asked him.
He gave me his phone. But what I saw wasn't the arcade video. It was the video of me singing in the talent show from yesterday.
"Erik how could you?" I screamed.
"I'm so sorry Rhi. I must've uploaded the wrong video by mistake." Erik said looking like he was about to cry.
"Well sorry doesn't fix things does it!!" I yelled.
Erik started to cry. I felt terrible.
"Look what you did Rhi." Kira said.
"I know I didn't mean it. Honestly. I'm just upset the video got posted. I didn't want anyone to see it." I said.
"Apologize to him Rhi. You know he didn't mean it. Erik loves you like a sister and respects you and has done everything for you." Kira said.
"Erik, bro I really didn't mean to snap on you like that. You know you're my bestest friend in the whole world. You're like a brother to me. Please stop crying bro. Do you forgive me?" I said.
"Of course I forgive you Rhi. If you want I can delete it." Erik said.
I hugged him and he stopped crying. Erik was going to delete the video when he noticed something.
"Look Rhi it has 5 million views! And oh my God Shawn commented on it." Erik said excitedly.
"Really. What did he say?" I asked shocked that Shawn would ever notice me.
Erik showed me the comment. It said: She's so freaking talented. Wonderful rendition of my song. Would love to meet you sometime.
I squealed of excitement.
"Erik please don't delete the video. If Shawn likes it it has to be good." I said.
"I won't." Erik said.
It was now 9:30.
"Damn it's time to go." I said.
We all got into Erik's car to go to the audition. On the way there I couldn't help but think about what Shawn said. I couldn't even believe he noticed me. More or less like my singing.
"We're here!" Erik said.
I started to get out of the car. My friends didn't follow.
"Aren't you guys coming with me?" I asked.
"We thought we'd make you nervous." Kira said.
"Y'all I need you guys to come with me. Please I need y'all so I WONT be nervous." I said.
"Ok we're coming." Kira said.
We walked into the auditions. It was now 10:15. 15 minutes until my audition. I went into the bathroom to warm up my voice. After I walked out of the bathroom I saw all of the people auditioning. I began to get nervous. I'll never get passed auditions with all these people auditioning I thought. I tried to think positive. I can't let Shawn down I gotta make him proud I thought. It was 10:28 now.
"Ms. Rhianna please come in for your audition." A man said.
My friends looked at me and smiled.
"You got this." Erik said.
"Yeah Rhi go break a leg." Kira said.
I walked into the room.
"Hello ms. Rhianna. What will you be singing for us today?" A lady said.
"In my blood by Shawn Mendes." I said.
I started to sing my song. When I was finished the lady and the rest of the judges clapped.
"Great job Rhianna. Thanks for singing that beautiful song for us." The lady judge said.
"You're welcome. Thanks for giving me a chance to sing it for you." I said.
I walked out of the room and walked over to my friends.
"So how did it go?" Kira asked.
"Did you get on the show?" Erik asked.
"It went great you guys. Thanks for being here to support me. I have the two greatest friends in the whole entire world. And Erik I don't know yet they'll call us back tonight if we made it." I said. We all got in the car and headed back to my house.
****later that night******
Rhianna's POV
We waited by the phone all day to hear some news.
"God I hope you make it." Erik said.
"We're so proud of you no matter what happens Rhi." Kira said.
"Thanks guys." I said.
Suddenly the phone rang. I answered it.
"Congratulations Rhianna. You have made it on America Needs Talent. Please fly out to New York tomorrow. We can't wait to see you shine on our stage." The lady on the phone said. I couldn't believe it. I was living the dream.
"What did they say?" Both Erik and Kira screamed at the same time.
"You won't ever believe it. She said I made it onto the show and that I need to fly out to New York tomorrow." I told them.
"OMG Rhi this is amazing." Erik said.
"You're finally gonna love your dream." Kira said.
"I want you guys to go with me. You've helped me through this whole thing. I need y'all to be there with me. I know it's short notice but please." I said.
"We thought you'd never ask." Kira said.
"This is so exciting. We get to go back to my home state." Erik said.
Erik was originally from New York before moving down to Alabama to go to school.
"I'm so excited you guys." I said.
My friends went home to go pack. I went to pack my things for the trip tomorrow.
"I know you're proud of me." I said to my Shawn Mendes standee.
I went to bed feeling so proud of myself. I was so excited for tomorrow. Then something occurred to me. I've never flown before.
*******The next day******
Rhianna's POV
My friends came over to get me to go to the airport.
"Guys I'm nervous. I've never flown before." I said.
"It'll be ok Rhi. We will be here with you the whole time." Erik said.
"Thanks." I said.
When we got to the airport we got our bags checked and went through security. We were then clear to board the plane. I sat down in a seat. I didn't realize who was beside me because I was so nervous.
"Look who's beside you Rhi." Erik said.
I looked beside me and it was Shawn Peter Raul Mendes. I couldn't believe it. I was fangirling so hard. Luckily he couldn't hear me because he was listening to music.
"Omg what do I say to him?" I asked.
"Just start by saying hello." Kira said.
I didn't want to interrupt him and his music. The place took off. It got Shawns attention. Before I could say anything shawn spoke up.
"Omg are you the girl that sang my song in your school talent show?" Shawn asked me.
"Yes! That's me. My name is Rhianna but you can call me Rhi. These are my friends Erik and Kira." I said pointing to my friends.
Erik and Kira waved.
"Sorry for fanboying. It's just that I think you're very talented Rhi." Shawn said.
I couldn't believe it. THE Shawn Mendes was telling me I was talented.
"It's ok I'm a big fan of you too. I have so much to say to you. You were the one that helped me get through anxiety. Especially with the song In my blood. That's why I chose to sing it in the talent show. I've been a big fan since your vine days." I said to him.
"I'm glad I could help you with your anxiety. You know I have it to so I know how it feels. You sure have been a fan for a long time. Thank you." Shawn said.
"You're welcome. It's my first time flying and I'm nervous." I said.
"Don't worry a Rhi you're doing fine. Where are you headed?" Shawn asked.
"To New York. I auditioned for America Needs Talent and got on the show." I told him.
"I'm so proud of you! I knew you were talented. You will go far." Shawn said.
"That means a lot coming from you." I said.
Me and Shawn continued talking. We must've fallen asleep because I heard Erik scream to wake me up.
"We're here!" Erik screamed.
I woke up. I noticed I drooled all over Shawn's shirt.
"I'm sorry for drooling on you Shawn." I said.
"It's ok Rhi. I have another shirt I can change into." Shawn said.
The plane landed.
"I guess I gotta get going Shawn. It was nice to finally meet you. Thanks for talking to me. I love you." I said.
Maybe I shouldn't have said I love you I thought.
"It was a pleasure to meet you too Rhi. I hope we meet again someday and good luck on America Needs Talent. I love you too." Shawn said as he waved goodbye to me.
Omg Shawn just told me he loved me to. I began to squeal on the inside. I exited the plane and waited for my friends.
"I can't believe that just happened." I told them.
"We're so happy for you Rhi." Kira said.
"He sounded like he was into you." Erik said.
"I wouldn't go that far. Besides I'm not pretty enough to be his girl." I said.
Shawn's POV
I went to my recording studio. I couldn't get Rhianna off of my mind. She was so beautiful and talented. I went to eat a muffin. I still couldn't get my mind off of her. I loved her so much. But how do I tell her?
