Chapter 6

*the next day*
Rhianna's POV
"Rhi wake up." Erik screamed.
"Yeah it's your big day. You have to be at America Needs Talent by 11:00." Kira reminded me.
"I'm up and I'm so excited. But I can't get Shawn off of my mind. He was so amazing and handsome. But I need to get him off of my mind because I will never be good enough for him." I said.
"Please don't say that shit Rhi. You know you're beautiful." Erik said.
"I mean I'm not prize in a Cracker Jack bag." I said.
"Please stop Rhi. I hate to see you like this." Erik said.
"Fine but you know it's true." I said.
I went into the bathroom of our hotel room and got dressed. After I got dressed, I went out on the balcony to look at the beautiful view of New York City. It maybe be beautiful but not as beautiful as you Shawn I thought in my head. We all headed to the car and drove to America Needs Talent.  Once we got there, a girl came up to greet us.
"Hello my name is Margo. I'm a contestant on this show as well. You must be Rhianna. I  have heard a lot about you." She said.
"Yes I am and good luck on the show as well." I said.
We walked around the studio where the show was being filmed.
"She seemed nice." I said.
"I don't know about her Rhi. Something seemed off." Erik said.
A man appeared on the stage.
"Good morning contestants and welcome to America Needs Talent. I am Bob and I'm the host of the show. You will each sing a song tonight and America will vote live during our show. Then a few of you will be eliminated. There are 3 rounds of competition. Good luck everyone. You will need to be ready and be back here by 6:00. The show will start filming live at 7:00." Bob told us.
"Let's go to my dressing room and practice my singing." I said.
"Yes practice makes perfect!" Erik said.
We went to find my dressing room. It was right beside Margo's. I went inside to practice singing.
"I'm gonna sing In My Blood again because Shawn said he liked it when I sung it in the talent show at school." I said.
"That sounds great Rhi." Erik said.
"Let's hear it!" Kira said.
I began to sing and I practiced for awhile. I suddenly had to go to the bathroom.
"I have to go to the restroom. I'll be right back." I said.
Erik's POV
Kira and I was waiting for Rhianna to get back from the restroom when I over heard something next door in Margo's room. I normally don't eavesdrop on other people's conversations but I heard some loud evil kinda laughing.
This is what I heard:
"I hate that Rhianna so much. Who does she think she is? Ugh" Margo said.
"I know what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna put poison in this diet Dr Pepper and give it to Rhianna and she will be dead. MWAHAHAHA!" Margo said.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I had to warn Rhianna.
"Kira!" I yelled.
"What are you so excited about Erik?" Kira asked me.
"I just overheard something Margo said. She said she was gonna poison Rhianna. We can't let her drink that Dr Pepper." I told Kira.
"Margo seemed nice earlier so why would she do that?" Kira asked.
"I don't know but I'm not chancing it." I said.
Rhianna came back into the room.
Suddenly there was a knock at the door. It was Margo.
"Hello Rhianna. I thought you might be thirsty with all that singing and I brought you a diet Dr Pepper." Margo said.
"Thanks Margo how nice of you. I think we're going to be great friends." Rhianna said.
Rhianna grabbed the Dr Pepper.
"NO RHI DO NOT DRINK THAT SHE PUT POISON IN IT!!!" I screamed while knocking the glass out of Rhianna's hand. The glass fell on the floor and broke.
"Shit" Margo said under her breath.
"Erik what the hell was that for? She was just trying to be friendly. She would never try to poison me." Rhianna yelled at me angrily.
Margo left the room.
"I just overheard her saying she put poison in it and how much she hated you and wanted you to die and all that stuff. I don't have a good feeling about her Rhi. I would never forgive myself if something happened to you sis. If I lost you I'd be lonely and I wouldn't have a figment friend anymore. I was honestly just trying to protect you Rhi I promise." I said to my friend.
"Oh Erik you know I can't stay mad at you for very long." Rhianna said as she ran over to hug me.
"So why is Margo acting this way?" Rhianna asked me.
"I don't know but please don't eat or drink anything she offers you from now on." I said.
I was so glad Rhianna was ok.
Margo's POV
"Damn that boy Erik. He knows too much. I gotta take him out to. He will try to protect her every time I try to harm her. But how?" I said to myself. I thought of an evil plan and smiled.
"MWHAHAHAHA" I laughed.
*later that night*
Shawn's POV
I was in my hotel room listening to my music when I looked at my watch. Omg it's almost time for America Needs Talent to start. I turned it on and watched for Rhianna. She's gonna be so good! I thought to myself.
Rhianna's POV
The first three contestants have performed and it's almost my time to go onstage. I was contestant number 5. I was so nervous but excited. I hope Shawn is gonna be watching from somewhere tonight I thought to myself. But he's probably forgotten about me by now I thought to myself. It was my time to go on. I saw Erik and Kira in the audience to cheer me on. I smiled at them and began singing. After my song was over everyone clapped. That is everyone besides Margo. She flipped me a bird and called me ugly.
"That was a beautiful performance Rhianna." Bob the host said.
"Thank you." I said.
Shawn's POV
Omg she did such an amazing job. She sang my song better than me! She looked so beautiful tonight. She's so perfect. She's gonna win this thing I just know it. I knew how I could see her again! I pulled out my phone and called America Needs Talent.
"Hello." The guy on the phone said.
"Hello this is Shawn Mendes. I understand that in round 2 the contestants have celebrity mentors and I wanted to know if I can be Rhianna's celebrity mentor?" I asked.
"If she makes it past tonight's elimination you most certainly can." The guy said.
"Great! Thank you so much." I said.
I hung up the phone. It was great to know I would get to see her again. I couldn't wait for tomorrow. Then I remembered the elimination. Oh God I hope she doesn't get eliminated! I thought. They were about to announce the results.
"The contestants leaving us tonight are Chloe, Bailey, and Robert. The rest of you are safe." Bob the host said.
"Thank God!" I screamed out loud.
I can't wait to see Rhianna tomorrow. I couldn't get her off my mind since we met on that plane.
*meanwhile*
Rhianna's POV
I was so happy I made it passed tonight's elimination.
"We are so proud of you Rhi." Kira said.
"Yeah we knew you could do it!" Erik said.
"Thanks you guys. I wonder if Shawn was watching tonight." I said.
"You never know Rhi." Erik said.
"Oh and another thing contestants. You all have a celebrity mentor for tomorrow's round. There is a computer here. You will click your picture and it will reveal who you guys have for tomorrow night. Good luck contestants and congrats for making it to the next round." Bob the host said.
"I wonder who you're gonna get Rhi." Erik said.
"I don't know Erik. I'm really nervous to see who I get. What if it's someone lame like Camilla Cabello?" I said.
Erik made a gagging sound at the mention of her name.
"I'm sure it'll be someone cool." Erik said.
I waited until all the other contestants looked to see who they had. I was so nervous to see.
"Please be someone good. Please be someone good." I said.
I clicked my picture and a video came up. I pressed play.
"Hey Rhianna it's Shawn Mendes I'm gonna be your mentor for tomorrow night. I can't wait to see you Rhi. Love ya." Shawn said in the video. He blew me a kiss at the end of the video.
"Omg omg omg!!!" I screamed.
I squealed out loud. I couldn't believe it Shawn was gonna be my mentor.
"I'm so happy for you Rhi." Kira said.
"I'm so happy it wasn't Camilla." Erik said.
Erik made me laugh.
"I can't wait to see him again. I'm so nervous and excited at the same time. I can't believe he remembered me." I said.
"I'm so happy he remembered you." Erik said.
"Me too." I said.
I couldn't wait for tomorrow. I was so happy I get see Shawn again. We went back to the hotel room to get some rest. I couldn't stop thinking about Shawn.
