Chapter 2

Rhianna's POV
*the next morning*
The alarm clock sounded. It means it was time for me to get up. I had to be at school a little earlier today because auditions were at 7:30. I got dressed and looked at my lifesize Shawn standee and said "I know you'd be so proud of me for doing this."I  ate breakfast and drove to school. It was 7:25. I was 5 minutes early. As I walked in the room where the auditions would be held I saw Erik and Kira in there sitting and waiting on me.
"We came to cheer you on!" Erik said.
"Thanks so much you guys. It means a lot to me." I said.
By this time it was 7:30.
"Good morning students and welcome to auditions for our school talent show." Good luck everyone!" "Rhianna why don't you go first." The teacher said.
This caught me off guard as I didn't like going first at anything. My heart started pounding and I thought I was about to have an anxiety attack. As this was going on I didn't notice that Hailey was auditioning as well.
"You must be lost. Weirdos don't have talent. You don't belong in the talent show. I bet you sing like shit. Talent shows are more for talented and unweird people like me." Hailey said.
I was ready to cry and give up and go to class.
"Leave her alone you jackass! Can't you see she has anxiety." Erik yelled at Hailey.
"You can shut up too you weirdo. I can't believe you actually hang out with that weirdo Rhianna. She's so stupid." Hailey said.
"Make me. And you're the stupid one trying to come at someone with anxiety." Erik said back to her.
"What makes you think Rhianna doesn't belong here. You're the one that doesn't belong here Hailey. I mean ugly hearted people like you shouldn't be allowed to be in a talent show." Kira shouted.
"Why do you defend her so much? I'm just saying she's a weirdo that'll never be anything. I don't even know why she thinks she can do this. She's ugly too." Hailey said.
"Shut up before I whoop your ass!" Kira said.
"And I'll help!" Erik replied.
"Now now students please settle down before I send you to the office." The teacher said.
I loved seeing my friends take up for me like that. I thought a minute about what Hailey had said. And I replied "I'm doing this to prove you wrong. You're wrong about me being a weirdo and I WILL make something of myself. You never will because of your ugly heart."
Before Hailey could say something mean back the teacher told me to sing and ignore Hailey. I gave the teacher my cd with my music on it. The music started playing and I started to sing. After I finished with my song Erik and Kira clapped and cheered for me and so did the other students. All except for Hailey.
"That was horrible! Why is everyone cheering?"
"Because it was wonderful! Thanks for that beautiful song Rhianna!" The teacher said.
I walked out of the door and I did the most mature thing I could think of. I stuck my tongue out at Hailey. (Ok I know that wasn't mature but I felt it needed to be done.)
My friends met me outside.
"That was so good Rhi!" Kira said.
"Yeah it was great. We're so proud of you Rhi! For doing this and standing up to Hailey. Erik said.
"Thanks guys and yeah I just got tired of her shit." I said.
"We understand completely. We didn't like what she said either. That's why we took up for you." Kira said.
"Thank you guys so much for that. It made my day. I have the best friends in the whole wide world. I love you guys." I said.
We hugged and walked to class.
*Later that day*
Rhianna's POV
We were in class waiting for them to announce who made the cut for the talent show. The teacher was teaching when the intercom came on.
"The following people have made it into our talent show this year."
The person over the intercom said.
Me Erik and Kira all listened for my name.
"Hailey"
I heard Erik and Kira groan.
"Why did she have to make it? She's so mean!" Erik exclaimed.
They kept calling names but mine was never called.
"Congratulations students" the person on the intercom said.
I started to cry. I really wanted a chance to show my talent.
"Ha! See weirdos don't get to be anything in life." Hailey said.
"Don't listen to her Rhi! You tried your best!" Kira said.
"We're still proud of you regardless." Erik said.
"Stop lying to her! She did horrible! I was there remember. If she's your so called friend why do you guys never tell her the truth. About how the world sees weirdos." Hailey said.
Suddenly the intercom came on again.
"We seem to have forgotten someone in our previous list. Congratulations Rhianna you have also made it into our talent show this year."
"Ha! In your face Hailey! Now who's the foolish one!" Erik said.
"No No No No No No! This can't be right. Why in the world would they let a weirdo like you perform? Damn idiots! I freaking hate this school but not as much as I hate you! AHHH!" Hailey said as she threw her mug at me.
It broke and almost cut me. I had to duck and miss it.
"Hailey go to the office. I saw what you just did to Rhianna." The teacher said,
"But she deserved it for being a weirdo and existing and AHHH!"
"Don't back sass me missy!" The teacher said.
Hailey left to go to the office. She slammed the door as she left. I could hear her crying and screaming. I kinda felt sorry for her even though she brought it on herself.
"Congrats on making the talent show Rhi!" Erik said.
"Yeah we're very proud of you." Kira said.
"Thanks guys I'm glad I get a chance to perform and show off my talent. And it's all thanks to you guys. I couldn't have done it without you. I love you guys to death." I said.
"We love you too Rhi." Kira said.
"I'm glad we could help you Rhi." Erik said.
The teacher went back to teaching.
After school I went back home to practice my song since the talent show was Friday and today was Tuesday.
Hailey's POV
I walked to the principals office. I was so upset. That weirdo Rhianna got me in trouble. I hate her so freaking much I thought. I was thinking about ways to get back at her. I sat down in the principals office.
"The teacher told me about what you did to Rhianna. I'm very upset at you Hailey. You know now you can't compete in the talent show." The principal said,
"Why?" I asked.
"Because what you did could have hurt or killed her. You shouldn't be bullying her. She has bad anxiety you know." The principal said.
"I don't care about that little weirdo. It's all because of her I can't compete in the talent show. I hate her I hate her so much!!!! AAAHHH!!" I said.
"You should care Hailey. Erik and Kira are about the only ones that are nice to her. Which is a shame because she should have more friends. She really is a kind soul. I remember when she helped me clean out my file cabinet one day after school. She didn't have to but she did. Because she's a kind soul. You could learn a lot from her you know." The principal said.
"UGH I HATE YOU I HATE YOU SO MUCH! WHY DOES EVERYONE KEEP TAKING UP FOR HER! GRRRR!" I yelled.
"Hailey I'm gonna have to put you in In School Suspension for doing this to Rhianna. We do not tolerate this kind of behavior at school. It's bullying and bullying is wrong. Rhianna has done nothing to you. So leave her alone. If I hear of you hurting her, trying to hurt her, or saying something rude to her ever again you're gonna get expelled. You understand?" The principal said.
"Yes sir." I said as I picked up his flower pot and smashed it on the ground.
"Hailey I'm warning you. You better behave!" The principal said.
I ignored him. I didn't know it was possible but I hated Rhianna even more now since she got me in trouble.
