In the future
When everything is shiny
Silver
And whiteWhen buildings are seamless glass
And cars are ergonomical and full of class
When technology is light and see through
Or as shiny as the towering buildings
Making up the downtownsThe dark streets and crumbling strip malls
Will still be dark
Unmarked
Fall apart
GrayWhen the busy parts of the city are renewed for the future
The dark parts will be forgotten
By perfect hair
Gleaming teeth
Stylish clothes
By the rich heads
That sit atop their shining towers of glass and steelAnd the broken street lights will stay broke
The falling facade will stay fallen
The vacant strip malls will stay empty
No one will remember to save those below them
To let them reach the shining buildings of wealth and powerAnd the dark streets will continue to take care of themselves
Nurture each other
In a cruel
Cruel
World
