Vampire Heart

Realizations

Sophie Deveraux picked up her phone.

"Jenna?"- she said- "finally"

"What is it?"- Jenna asked.

"Things are not looking good. The scroll you sent me is about Elena. It's about a curse set on a vampire thousand years ago. It says here that he is an Original vampire. He needs her heart to break it!"

"What?..this cannot be right!"- Jenna was worried.

"You will never believe who came to visit me the other day"- Sophie then said.

"Who? Stop being cryptic!"

"John Gilbert! He was looking for something called 'a vampire heart'"-Sophie said.

"Really? He has been gone for twenty years. Last time I've seen him was when Elena was five and Grayson kicked him out. I've never seen him furious- he never was furious. What does he want after twenty years??"-Jenna wondered.

"I will come over as soon as I close shop here. I am catching the first plane over to Richmond. You have to get Elena away somewhere-at least till we figure out what is going on!"

"Right!"- Jenna said putting the phone down on the table- "this is easier said than done!"

She thought for a moment what to do. Thought were racing through her head. She then picked the phone up again-

"So, I just say to Elena- vampires exist! You know your mum and dad- me...we are all part of a secret Council that tried to make sure none of them can live in Mystic Falls and you are a doppelganger!"- Jenna muttered to herself. Two hours later in Elena's college dorm room Jenna was telling those exact words to her niece.

Elena cracked a joke, but then seeing Jenna's serious face and point out to Elena that she didn't drive over to the college on a whim.

"What are you saying????"- Elena looked at her aunt in disbelief-"I am a doppelganger and someone is going to come and get me and then kill me to break a curse??"

"Yes"- Jenna said confirming it in a very serious manner- "all these years we were protecting all of you...thinking stupidly that the story of a doppelganger is a myth"

"But you believe in vampires? So you believe in myths?"- Elena went on not believing what she was hearing  - "Jenna...right...this is some excentric after- graduation prank thing to get me away on a trip"

"It's not Elena"- Jenna said trying now to explain - "you know that I usually go away for holidays to New Orleans"

"Yes. To let some steam off from normal life. Mardi Gras. Party-time."- Elena said.

"Well... that was a cover...ok.. did party, but the real reason was...ahm... I have a friend who I went to college with there. She is a witch. Her name is Sophie."

"Sophie...yeah, of course I know her. She came to our house. She is a wtich? You really lost me now"- Elena said still not really believing in anything Jenna was saying.

"All right. This all is just a joke to you. Well, what if I told you that Bonnie, and her mum, and her grandma, who was killed by a vampire, was a witch too?!"- Jenna was not letting it be.

Elena didn't know what to think and the more Jenna spoke, the more it sounded like it was a real thing, as her aunt didn't stop and also make a joke as she expected her to. Foe the first time she saw her aunt in a different light, a person who kept a very strange dark secret to herself.

"I guess you need proof. Since you are scientist in a way."- Jenna then said.

"Yeah...show me a vampire!"- Elena said.

"Take your bag. We are going to Zach's house."

"Why?"

"Because...he had relatives that were turned in 1864."- Jenna said and waited for Elena to accompany her now.

Elena saw that she really meant it and now took her bags and the women left the dorm.

In New York

Elijah flashed back to his time as a young viking man.

"Tatia..."- he uttered pensively- "yet again"- remembering so vividly the woman being sacrificed by his mother to curse his brother. He then put his jacket on and straightened his shirt sleeves pulling them neatly so they comfortably sit . He heard that his confidante was waiting for him to leave for Mystic Falls, so he went to out of his penthouse apartment, where Rose waited.

"The House is prepared. She had left the College dorm!"- she informed him.

"Good."- " I would like to meet her in person... "

"That will be arranged."- Rose said.

They got into a car and Rose was driving them to the airport.

In Mystic Falls, Stefan now looked at Jenna and Elena walk into the Boarding House. He watched with his eyes opened at Elena, who was the spitting image of Katerina Petrova, his lover, who had turned him into a vampire.

"This can't be"- he thought to himself. He now went closer to the house to listen to the two women.

Elena found the house dark and gloomy. It felt like she got warped back into the 19th century when the house was built and decorated.

"I can't get that you acutally date Zach. He was really weird, but then again...now I get your gothic thing"-Elena said.

"Here"- Jenna found the book and the diaries Zach had shown her ages ago.

Elena took a diary and started reading the entries. They were written by Zach's grandfather and it was very clear to her soon as she saw the pictures of Damon and Stefan in different period suits that were some 50 years apart, looking exactly the same as when the first photos taken in 1880 and then in 1930.

"Damon and Stefan Salvatore"- Elena read- "they are his relatives? and he knew them?"

"He has seen both of them twice in his life time."- Jenna said.

"Right- and the others? You said that you knew others?"

"Yes."- Jenna said- "your uncle John...is one!"

Elena now looked even more surprised at her aunt.

"And...ahm... your history teacher...Alaric...is one"

"You are kidding me, right? but...he never...he looked so normal... you dated him??"

"Some of them are not like from the films. You see they still have humanity...some live normally between us... some..."

"Now tell me about the doppelganger once again?!"- Elena demanded.

Jenna now told her what she knew.

In the other side of town, Bonnie reeled after reading the book her mother had sent her. She had always felt that certain things were different about her, but she never knew what it was. Why she had preminitons and was sensitive to strange occurences.

Now she read out certain rhymes out of the Grimoire to see if they would have any effect. The candle that was on the chest of drawers lit up as finished the rhyme.

"OMG!"- Bonnie uttered.
