Weeks later

Mystic Falls

"Why is it that you cannot go to New York?"- Hayley asked Klaus.

"The Natives made Manhattan sacred ground- only white witches and their followers can abide there."- Klaus explained to the female werewolf.

"And you are just going to sit here and wait?"

"Come here you"- Klaus now pulled her into a kiss. Among kisses and feverish playful sexual innuendos Klaus explained that eventually everyone had to return to Mystic Falls, the only place where the ritual could take place. He smirked before he pulled the feisty werewolf into another passionate kiss.

New York

The women were enjoying their time out, which consisted not much about letting go, yet quite rigorous studying and training that Sophie now provided to all, especially Bonnie. She needed to understand and master all the Bennett witchcraft in a very short amount of time.

Elena studied now the history of the dark and white witchcraft, vampires and werewolves. Elijah provided her with all the necessary books.

Caroline reluctantly did some of it, too as her first full moon transformation didn't go well. Her temper wasn't any better either, and Sophie had to resort to giving her a potion to calm her down.

The women lived together in Elena's apartment. There were days when the apartment felt too small, and then there were days when it felt like the coziest place in the world.

One evening after Sophie and Caroline left to meet up with new and old friends, Elena and Bonnie reflected on the everything that had happened lately.

"I cannot forget Matt's face when we told him what we were."- Bonnie smiled remembering the day they he came to New York with Tyler.

"And Tyler calling you a magician- and you having to prove it and he still didn't believe it till he saw Rose change."- Elena said.

"Talking of Rose, need to call her back. Need to meet with her and Freya. You can come, we are not going to talk much magic. "

"No, I'll pass."- Elena said now getting up from the sofa.

Bonnie could tell for weeks now that Elena harboured something inside, but she didn't want to bother her friend and waited for her friend to open up when she was ready to, although she had noticed that Elena was quite reserved all the time they had a meeting with Elijah and his sister.

"Ok - I didn't want to get into it - but everytime we have something to do with Freya, you avoid them. Did something happen Lena?"

"Nothing happened."- Elena said and once again she wanted to go off and dismissed the whole situation.

"Right, and you look like a major thing happened- what's up?"

Elena now put a little sour smile on, feeling a million butterflies raise up inside.

"Elijah"- Elena now said.

"Did he hurt you?!"- Bonnie now asked with a seriously look.

"No. We kissed-well, I kissed him. Huh - it was like fire-so good!!! - and then he stopped as if someone staked him. He looked at me like I was his worst enemy. His eyes were so cold. He apologized quickly and then then just left without saying anything."

"Oh, right. Now it was clear why you two are just hello-goodbye."- Bonnie said.

"Yes. And I don't know why I still feel - like it matters. I should have been over it the minute he dismissed me?!"- Elena explained.
