Making a deal

Bonnie went back to the party and they did the whole cake thing. She hated the whole pretending thing. She watched as Damon had taken Caroline in dance swing away from Stefan, compelling her as they agreed he would do. All she had read the night before, all was a surreal reality that she entered as if she herself was compelled. The witchcraft she possessed was only asleep, and was awaken as she opened the book of her mother's and read the lines Abby wrote when Bonnie was born.

She couldn't stop thinking about Elena.

In the Mansion outside of town Elijah had finished explaining what his relation with Klaus Mikaelson was.

"Half-brothers?..."-Elena uttered.

Elijah continued-"Our mother was a very powerful witch... this curse was to disable him from activating the witch-craft in him..."

"So... ahm...he is a werewolf, vampire and a witch...warlock?!"- Elena uttered trying to grasp all that she had heard.

"We all have the witchcraft in us... but that doesn't make us witches...it has made us immortal... but with Klaus, because his father's mother also was an Original werewolf witch, made the warlock aspect strong and he can use it. When my mother found out what it would mean....it was too late...the only option was that she put the curse on him. "

"And he needs me to break the curse- how?"- Elena then asked.

And just as Elijah wished to continue he heard that Rose was approaching the door. Rose then entered and informed them that Sophie was at the gates.

"Please, let her in"- Elijah said to Rose and Elena looked at him how he commanded everything in a very calm manner.

"You knew that she would be coming here?!... You knew everything...?!"- Elena concluded.

"It is very important to be thoroughly prepared. It's nearly like a mathematical equation, but it pretty much like alchemy... I'd like to continue...but first let's meet your witch."- he said.

"My witch?!"- Elena repeated and wondered why he would refer to Sophie as such. It was all like she had entered some twillight zone and she thought she was going to wake up from it and she would be at home- "the red shoes... if only I had those red shoes!"- she thought.

Sophie Deveraux belonged to a very old coven that could trace its ancestry back to France when the Gauls reigned the territory. Elijah respected witches of such stature and backgrround. He knew that she would find Elena, but he wanted a minute or so with the doppelganger, just to get to know her. He had hoped it would be at the party, but everything just unwrapped sooner rather than later.

Rose felt first hand Sophie's brutal and powerful attack, removing her easily from her path. She could sense were Elena was and marched straight into the room.

"Do come in!"- Elijah said to her as  Sophie walked in trying the same spell to get Elijah out of the way, who stood up as she got in, but she couldn't do anything to him. She looked stunned and then turned to Elena checking if she was all right.

"It'sok, Sophie...it's ok... I am fine..."- Elena blurted out now fearing that the vampire would do something to the her aunt's friend. Elijah remained calm and asured the witch that he doesn't mean any harm to Elena or to her, but also that he is also not letting them go.

"Let me explain...it is of utmost importance that Elena is not caught but Klaus... she will for definite be locked up, killed and her heart used for the ritual. I can't have that."

Elena now quickly retold Sophie what Elijah had told her so far.

"So...what my grandmother told me is true?!"-Sophie said -" you are the old one?!"
Elijah wasn't surprised that she would have some knowledge of the old ones, ancient vampires that once walked the Earth.
"Yes...only five of us remain."-Elijah said.
"Where are the others?"-Elena wanted to know.
"One of them lives in Europe... the others, I believe were captured by Klaus..."-Elijah said.
"This is irrelevant now..."- Sophie said- "I know how you work...there is something you want in return... and I have what you want!"
"Really?!"- Elijah said smirking a bit and now wanted to hear what she had to offer.
Elena also looked at Sophie  interested to hear what she was going to say.

"You want the vampire heart!"- Sophie looked Elijah straight in the eyes.

The amber in his eyes flickered with great interest.

"You make your coven proud!...What do you know of it?!"- Elijah said.

"Klaus had once nearly got the curse removed, right?...but the girl escaped....they caught her and... but the heart had somehow disappeared...or let's say...the witch wanted something in return..."- Sophie said.

"And you know where it is?"- Elijah said.

"I do..."- Sophie looked at him confidently. Elena was quiet and just looked at the whole thing unfold.

"The Heart for Elena!"- Sophie said.

"And how can I be sure that you are telling me the truth?!"- Elijah said.

"I can show you where it is!"- Sophie said- "also...I know who you are and what you are capable of...do you seriously think that I would be playing a game here!"

"True...I don't like to be double crossed..."

"Do we have a deal?!"- Sophie then said.

Elijah thought for a moment. Elena looked at Sophie and was amazed at how she dealt with the situation.

"All right...we have a deal!"- Elijah said.

Elena smiled a little now finally relaxing and was happy that this nightmare she found herself in was coming to and end.

Sophie texted Jenna now and confirmed first that Elena was safe and sound, also informing her about the deal with Elena's captor.

"Fell's Church!"- Sophie said to him.

"Let's go!"- Elijah said- "Elena comes with me!"

Sophie nodded. She knew what the rules were and he would hand Elena over when he got what he had been promised. Rose waited for them in the hallway, having recovered from the witch's hit.

Jenna had left the party after the cake was cut and they toasted Caroline, and so did Bonnie, trying to get Caroline to go with her, who wanted to go away with Stefan, and the women got into a fight over it.

"It's my birthday!!! And if I want to go away with a guy...then I am going to do it!"- Caroline spat at Bonnie- "You are not my mum...Bonnie! What's up with you??"

"You had too much too drink... you are not thinking straight- and we said we would always watch eachother's backs...and this is what I am doing now!!! Hate me tomorrow...but you are coming home with me..."- Bonnie now took hold of Caroline  and tried to get her in her car.

Stefan could see that it all got too entangled and he let it go.

"Road House?"- he said to Damon.

"Actually, I think we ought to go home too!"- Damon said and Stefan could see that something was not right, and he followed his brother now. In the car he filled Stefan in with all that went off earlier.

Bonnie drove Caroline home, but on the way she had texted Jenna wanting to know if she had any update on Elena.

Jenna, who was now on her way to Fell's Church replied to her saying that all is fine and that Elena was safe.
