After the doctors worked out that the orange glowing serum – EXTREMIS – as they say, had no effect on my body, I was wheeled out , still in my restraints, to another place. It was a dungeon, and Maya was working there silently, not glancing at me at all.
I groaned a bit as they roughly took me out of the other restraints and tied me up with chains to another stand there, forcing me to use my legs and stand up.
Blinking harshly against the dim light, I looked straight at Maya – as she was the only one present – drilling holes in the back of her head until she had enough.
"What?" She questioned, turning around.
"I remember you. Vaguely, but I do." I said, looking straight at her still.
"So?" She said, looking slightly uncomfortable.
"You are one of Dad's stands, aren't you? Is this about revenge then?"
"You don't know what you are talking about." She muttered, turning back around.
"Hey! I do know what's going on here. You are a scientist, Killian gave you money or something and now you are indebted to him. Is that so?" I said, but when she didn't reply back, I knew I was right.
After that there was silence for a while. But that silence broke when I heard someone coming, and the sounds of wheels creaking as well, if that makes sense. Looking up I saw it was my Dad, unconscious and being dragged in by no other than Savin.
"You bastard?! What did you do to my dad!" I screamed, struggling in my ropes as I was still too weak to use my powers.
He just smirked as he bound Dad with chains to another similar stand like mine , and went out, completely ignoring my screams. Maya said nothing during this exchange.
Internally I was really happy to see that Dad was alive. I knew he wasn't dead, as the body wasn't recovered, but to see the news and the destruction of our home, a small part of me did die a little when I heard that he was presumed dead.
"Dad. Dad wake up!" I said to him, watching him sleep. This sleep seems to be the one he took after a long time, maybe it was true. He wasn't sleeping enough before, just imagine how it is after me and Happy were attacked. I hope he's okay and Killian didn't bring him along as well.
Soon I heard groaning as I saw my Dad waking up.
"Dad!" I yelled, a big smile on my tired face seeing him waking up.
He groaned, not taking in his surroundings as he looked at his restrains, trying to get out of them.
"Dad! Snap out of it!"
"Sofie? Sofia what are you doing here? I thought you were at the hospital!" He said, finally looking at me.
"And I thought you were dead. Get over it. " I said, looking at Maya, and he did the same. Maya turned around to look at us.
"Just like the old times huh?" She said, a sad smile on her face.
"Oh yeah. With zip ties . It's a ball." Dad said distractedly, looking for any escape.
"I didn't need that information Dad, thanks for scarring me for life. " I said, shuddering .
"It wasn't my idea. None of it was." She directed the last part to me.
