Sabrina's POV
I look up to see my Dad is laughing at me, picking up Felix's cage. I smile wildly at him. I can't help it. I'm just sooo happy to see him. I run up to him, and hug him tightly. We must look daft standing in the middle of the street, hugging eachother. But I don't care, I haven't seen him in over a year, and I don't even know, how long I get with him now. So I need to make the most of it.
"Happy 12th Birthday, Sabrina" Dad whispers into my ear.
"Dad, my birthday was a few weeks ago" I reply smiling into his chest. "Besides I have the best present right here".
He half laughs at me "Come on, let's go and get some lunch, I know you had a big meal with Andrew and Chris. But you might want something now?" He asks suggestively. I look up at him and nod. I would love to sit in a little café with him. We make our way over to Brews and Stews, and sit at a little table outside. We order some fish and chips, and begin eating. I tell him about school last year, and everything I have done in New York.
"Typical Andrew, even after you mother came back to England, he was still trying to make her into a proper young witch. Giving her books to read, or new recipe's to cook" Dad says, adding ketchup to each of our plates. "He never changed, and I doubt he ever will. He is happy, with who he is. He has Christopher, and you. That is all he will ever need" He finishes passing me the vinegar.
"Yeah, well I still think he needs to meet someone. Someone who can make him happy. Then he can fuss over her" I add laughing.
"And speaking of meeting someone" Dad starts, bending his face down a little so his eyes are level with mine "Is it true you are meeting a young man, next week?" Dad asks looking at me. I raise my eyebrows at him. How the heck did he find out about Oliver?
"Don't be so alarmed. I won't pry, as long as he is kind to you. Though I would like to know if he has red hair or not?" Dad ask slyly. I shake my head at him.
"Hmm fair enough. Well down to business, you will only be spending one week with me this summer"
I drop my fork. "I have a job starting next week, in France" he adds looking at my fork.
"Congratulations" I say also looking down at my fork.
"Sabrina. You know I would stay with you, if I could" He says quietly "And no I won't explain why you can't stay with me. You will learn that when you are older" He answers quickly before I can object. "Dumbledore sent me your school letter, so we can shop for your things this week. We are staying at the Leaky Cauldron. Maybe, we could even do some Muggle shopping if you want?"
I look up at him. He is really trying. "Can we go to the cinema? We haven't been since I was little" I ask, looking into his sullen, tired eyes. He smiles, and nods at me.
He hands me my Hogwarts letter, and see I only need three new books this 'Standard Book of Spells: Grade 2', 'Practical defensive magic and its use against the dark arts', and finally 'Confronting the Faceless'.
"Apart from your books, do you need anything else this year?"
"I need to stock up on my potion ingredients, and things like quills, ink and parchment. Andrew already got my some new school clothes, but I will need a new robe. Apparently, they don't sell Hogwarts robes in New York" I say laughing slightly. He laughs at me.
After our lunch, we go to the apothecary, for my potion ingredients, before heading off to Madam Malkin's, for my new school robe. We then head off to Flourish and Blotts, where Dad surprises me by saying I can buy another book. I look through the shelves, taking in the title of every book on the shelves. I just love being amongst the books. I finally choose Alchemy, ancient art and science. Dad gives me a look, like 'Are you sure?' I smile at him.
"Ok, I was wondering if you wanted this one, as well?" Dad asks, holing up 'Quidditch through the ages'. I smile enthusiastically at him. "I would like to buy these, please" Dad says turning round and smiling at the cashier, handing over all of my new books. When the cashier, told Dad the price, he stayed quiet as he got out his money. He had to empty the entire contents of his money bag. I feel so empty, when as I watch him scoop out every coin, wishing my Dad could have more. He deserves more. My dad catches me watching. He bends down to me, after we leave the shop, and whispers "I have you and that is more than I deserve". I look up at him in shock. How did he know that is what I was thinking!? He smiles down at me.
We finally finish shopping, and head back to the Leaky cauldron to enjoy a quiet dinner, just the two of us.

I wake up early, smiling. Was it all a dream? I roll over, and see Dad still asleep......It wasn't a dream! I really did spend the whole day with him. I sit up on the bed, and start writing out letters to people. I write to each of the twins, Cedric, Alicia, Angelina, Ginny, Lee and most importantly Oliver. Each of the letters, basically told them about New York, and that I'm staying at the Leaky Cauldron, until Saturday. After finishing, I hop out of bed to go to the postal office, and get the letters delivered. I pay the man, and head back to the Leaky Cauldron, just in time to join Dad for breakfast.
"Where were you?" Dad asks setting down the Daily Prophet, upon the table.
"Just sent off some letters, that's all" I answer quietly "So what's the plan for today?" I ask eating some toast.
"A picnic" He answers, just as Tom brings over a basket of food. My dad is seriously Perfect!

Time has gone so quickly this past week. On my last day with my Dad we took the train to the Prince Charles Cinema! We bought some drinks, and a bag of sweets to share. But instead of buying tickets, Dad headed straight over to the girl taking tickets. He dives his hand deep into his pocket and pulls out some tickets, which he hands over to the girl. How has he already got our tickets?
She rips them, and says "Upstairs, screen 3". We take the lift upstairs, and walk into screen three, taking seats 1 and 2, in Row L. The film begins.....'Ducktales The movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp'. Dad has done it again! Chosen an awesome film for us. For just me and him. As I lean my head on his shoulder, eating my sweets, I can't help but think how perfect this is. How perfect he really is. No matter what we both have to live with, when we are together we just match. And these are the moments he becomes the Dad I always wanted him to be.
